That does not matter. What matters is the teams. When Clemson was beating everyone up, SEC was still better overall than the ACC. But Clemson was the best team.
if they showed they had something on offense theyd be in ala a cardale jones situation.
With the way the other games worked out, I don’t think there was any scenario in which something that happened in the ACC championship game would’ve changed this outcome.

i disagree.
so FSU could have the defense of the 1985 Bears and it wouldn't
Said it earlier: the committee would run over their grandmother to get 'Bama in.
That has nothing to do with this decision.
If Jordan Travis is healthy and Bama was chosen over Texas, then you could argue this point.
they're getting their 2nd string QB back before the playoffs. So we're just saying he can't drive the offense with a few weeks of practicing witht he first team. this is weak.
i guess this opens the door to the NFL bouncing teams from the playoffs if their QB gets hurt in the first round and replacing them with a team with a healthy QB.
I wish the expansion was this year instead of next.
Didn't the ACC vote not to have he expansion this year? JFC, that would be ironic...
Total scumbag maneuver. They just shit on kids that played their ass off. They took the #4 team, that won their conference title and took teams rated behind them before the weekend and jumped two teams over them.
FSU shold tell the NCAA and their 40 bowls to go fuck themselves.
I wish the expansion was this year instead of next.

I get it. It's a very tough pill to swallow if you are an FSU supporter.
leaving Bama out if they beat Georgia and they did.
What a great season FSU had and I hope the school and the community do something really nice for them.
Some teams have gotten in who probably shouldn't have and vice versa. Very unfortunate for FSU and I certainly understand and respect those who felt they got screwed.
I still hope they get to 16 with every conference champion in one day.
Feel bad for the Noles, as much as I can for FSU considering I'm still not over '93 when FSU won the national championship despite losing to ND. Not that I'm still bitter or anything...Haha.
I wish the expansion was this year instead of next.

Your NFL point is silly. There’s no subjectivity to the NFL playoff process. That’s how teams with losing records make the postseason while teams with ten wins sit at home. Unfortunately, that’s not the process here and while it will be easier going forward, subjectivity will still play a role in the college playoffs.
I don’t think anyone is arguing that FSU couldn’t win a game with backup QBs. I think in this process that it’s very easy to argue that FSU isn’t one of the 4 best teams without Jordan Travis. That may not even be true, but it’s an argument that can be made. And with very tough choices, that was the easiest way to make the decision.
Jordan Travis was a major part of why they were one of the best teams in the country.
Yup and sounds like him being out is a major reason why they got bounced. They must think even with a practicing #2 they still aren’t near a top 4 level.
I think it simply comes down to that as much as it sucks for them to be out.
It would’ve been really interesting if he wasn’t hurt and they couldn’t be kept out. Then it would’ve come down to Bama/UT for the final spot and I think the committee is relieved not to have to make that choice. Much easier to cite Travis’s injury, bounce them and get the other two in.

i was being facetious. but what I really think is that yes, you can argue that FSU isn't the same team and not a top 4 team. but you can also argue that their defense alone makes them a top 4 team. they haven't lost a game yet, even after adversity. it's not fair to bounce them because you believe they won't rise to the challenge. let them rise or not rise. you're replacing them with a team that has already lost. and barely, barely got past auburn just 8 days ago.
if the committee is putting Bama ahead of FSU they should also

As I mentioned earlier, you can do the “almost lost to a bad team” argument with everyone except for Michigan and Texas. The difference is everyone watched the Iron Bowl and no one remembers Washington-Arizona State or FSU-Boston College.
Losing a Heisman Trophy finalist QB was the key factor and I don’t think that any result against Louisville was going to move the needle enough to keep FSU over those other 4 teams. It’s unfortunate, but that’s life.

But I really feel badly for them. Definitely hope the school /town does something very special for them.
As for Alabama, I am a big fan, but I also know that if they don’t complete that last gasp TD pass last week, they are on the outside looking in, regardless of Georgia game.
And so it goes.
Here’s to an expanded play-off system where the teams fighting for the 11th and 12th seeds won’t mean Jack.
ACC has a winning record against the SEC this year
That does not matter. What matters is the teams. When Clemson was beating everyone up, SEC was still better overall than the ACC. But Clemson was the best team.

I know - but that doesn’t seem to matter to the committee
Now they have to play against hot team Texas in its backyard in a dome where crowd noise will play large factor.
UW-Michigan in Rose also would have been nice send-off for the Pac 12.
they did not.
if they showed they had something on offense theyd be in ala a cardale jones situation.
alabama texas
they did not.
if they showed they had something on offense theyd be in ala a cardale jones situation.
They won with the third string freshman QB who had 5 practices. They beat the #14 team in the country. It was ugly but they won.

What part of freshman QB with 5 practices can you not comprehend.

It gets easier for the committee next year with 12 teams. Fans will be arguing about # 13, 14 and 15.

I can buy that point re: Travis. He's been on my list since the end of the first month of games.

Not at all, at least not necessarily.
Alabama winning gave Texas a big boost because now they've beaten the SEC champs and how do you leave them out and put Bama in.
Would have been much easier for Committee to go with undefeated FSU if Bama had gone down to UGA.
