I m hoping
He's great
He can work over a defense. I don’t like his arm. But when it comes to the mental processing of the position. I have no doubt Shanahans influences there but Purdy plays the nuances of the position. Using his eyes, audibling, reading through defensive coverage.
Out of the Eagles
He's made some seriously impressive throws when the pocket is collapsing.

Comical how so much better this 49er and Eagle team is better all over. Both Purdy and Hurts are talented but the people around them are outstanding.
If we had defensive backs who knew how to catch a ball Purdy could have been picked off three or maybe four times in that game

He had an extremely high S2 score. That is what Schoen needs to focus on when looking for our next QB. The ability to go through progression and make post snap reads is the most important skill a QB needs. All the QBs discussed on this board have enough arm strength to succeed. The question is how well they read defenses.

Good question. I'm thinking he's good enough in the pocket and with his decision making to be more effective than Jones.
But I don't see him like Mahomes, Allen, etc - QBs who are force multiplier types who can really carry and will a team.

He jumps early all the time and they never call it.
He wasn’t that bad, but there was clearly a difference and a significant uptick in turnovers. This despite the fact he was still surrounded by a lot of talent.
