Based on The Athletic's December 5th projection, the Giants are drafting 5th (expected 5.2 wins.) They also have a .4% chance of making the playoffs!
Also versatile to play OT at NFL level.

If they beat the Jets and we lost out we would be back in front of them.

The Jets also need a QB. Z. Wilson is done and G. Wilson would likely prefer a QB who can get him the ball regularly.
Josh Harris's Commanders likely won't. Harris openly tanked the Sixers for 3 years to get a franchise player before the Adam Silver stepped in and forced them to hire Coangelo. Once it became clear that Embiid was the guy, they've been very aggressive in trying to pair him with no. 2 and no.3 superstars. The Sixers (and the fanbase) have not been satisfied with being a perpetual 3 seed and going out in the second round.
Maybe he'll run an NFL team differently, but he doesn't strike me as a guy who will talk himself into a quarterback who could maybe deliver 9 or 10 wins in good circumsstances (*cough cough*).

The Giants are looking to upgrade the QB position in the draft, that much I agree with. I doubt they have given up on Jones, but they surely must be concerned about his ability to stay healthy. When you have a top five or so pick, you don't pass on a QB who is worthy of such a selection. But you don't reach and you don't give up the farm for one. You simply prioritize it in the draft and you look for the right opportunity to land one that you covet, somebody you think you can win with, somebody that is very coachable.
That’s not entirely true. If they were 100% sold they wouldn’t be looking, like the Bengals did when they took Chase.

I think I would support it, actually. They would certainly leave a significant amount of $ on the table for the school and the conference (I believe).
Both teams have a lot of NFL prospects for 2024. I have to imagine there will also be some players not playing for that reason, too...
