NYG Postgame (vs. Packers) Select Quotes: WR Wan’Dale Robinson

December 11, 2023

Q: Did you say it was a year ago today?

A: A year ago today I was actually flying out to LA to go have my ACL surgery, so it’s actually a good coincidence, but just shows how much you’ve got to put in and how much work you’ve got to put in to get back to where you want to be.

Q: What can you say about (Giants QB) Tommy (DeVito) on the last drive?

A: Composed, relentless, I mean everything that you want out of your quarterback. We go through those situations every single day, having a two-minute situation at the end of the game and it just goes to show how much work he puts in to make sure that we’re going out there and getting the W.

Q: Take us through the last catch, your catch of that drive, the thirty-two yarder. How did you get open, were you thinking out of bounds? Walk us through the thought process.

A: Well really, I’m trying to figure out where our line is for the most part for the field goal, but once we called the play, I knew that it was kind of a play that would have me isolated one-on-one as long as they were in man coverage. They were in man coverage, so I was going on an over route, the DB bit over on it and broke back out to the sideline and wide-open DeVito gave me a great ball, was able to go up the sideline for a couple more yards.

Q: There are times that watching you in the locker room being across from Tommy, it’s almost like I’ve seen you kind of laugh and get a kick out of his personality, but how do you compare that to the guy who’s in the huddle on that last drive?

A: He’s all laugh and joking whatever in the locker room, but whenever we get out there on the field it’s like he’s a stone-cold killer. I feel like that’s what you want out of your quarterback. I mean he’s laser focus and just letting everybody know this was going to be ours.

Q: Does it surprise you for a guy who’s been a draft pick and as successful as you were in college to see a guy in his status as an undrafted guy coming out and doing things that he’s doing?

A: I mean I wouldn’t say surprised. At the end of the day, we’re all in the NFL and you’ve got to go out there and do your job, so I think he’s just taking advantage of every opportunity that he has and he’s doing the most with it.

Q: I’m going to say the p word—playoffs. Do you toss that around? Are you guys like we’re only a game out?

A: We’re going one game at a time right now. We’ll worry about that whenever that time comes and right now it’s just one win at a time and everything will take care of itself.

Q: But does every game now feel like a playoff game? I think (Giants RB) Saquon (Barkley) said you pretty much have to win every game.

A: At the end of the day, we want to win every game. I don’t want to put anything on everybody, but yeah, I mean at the end of the day we’ve got to go in each week and work and make sure that we’re coming out with a victory.
Nice to see he has the quicks

But if I recollect correctly he led the nation in separation in college. And whaddya know, on that last play to get in FG range he faked the defender out of his shoes to get wide open.

I love it when a good plan comes together.
Doe's anyone still question drafting him in the 2nd round?

I do remember a lot of negative comments, especially about his size.
