Giants' offensive snap counts from yesterday:
• Light workload for Saquon. He couldn't find any room to run (nine carries for 14 yards). He hardly played any third downs, which has been a trend all season. Gray played the entire garbage-time drive. His first real offensive action since Week 5.
• Rough day for the WRs. Slayton had three catches for 58 yards on the garbage-time drive. To that point, Wan'Dale Robinson led the WRs with four catches for 25 yards.
Slayton was open on a deep ball on the first play of the game, but DeVito under-threw him. Slayton and Hyatt had bad drops. Hyatt didn't have a catch on three targets. Sixth game this season without a catch. Obviously needs to develop consistency.
Shepard didn't play until getting three snaps on the final drive. That Campbell is a healthy scratch over Shepard makes me think they don't want to insult Shepard because Campbell at least has a game-day role as the kick returner.
• Waller played 26 snaps/42% of the snaps. He said that was the pregame target for his pitch count and he felt good after the game. 29-yard grab on a pass behind him was a reminder of his talent. Frustrating how much time he missed this season. Bellinger was playing ~90% of the snaps during Waller's absence. That was down to 56% yesterday. Giants barely played any 12 personnel.
• Worst game for the OL in a while. Justin Pugh owned what he called his worst performance of the season. Won't get any arguments on that. But he was hardly alone. Once again, the line was vexed by basic stunts. Watching New Orleans dominate up front really makes you question Green Bay's game plan last Monday.
Giants' defensive snap counts from yesterday:
• Lawrence again on a pitch count. Hamstring injuries have really hurt this team this season (Lawrence, Waller, Thomas). Robinson has really been playing well, seemingly had to build up after being limited during the offseason as he recovered from a meniscus injury. Rakeem Nunez-Roches left with an injury late in the fourth quarter. No word on his status, but didn't appear serious.
• Extremely disappointing showing from the edge rushers. Saints have a mediocre LT and stud RT Ryan Ramczyk was out, and Thibodeaux and Ojulari didn't have a QB hit. Hard to even think of any pressures.
The Giants blitzed on 43% of the drop backs (fourth most this week) and only had a 10% pressure rate (worst in the league). Didn't seem like Wink really unleashed the exotic blitzes despite the high blitz rate. Just brutal against a QB with a track record of getting rattled by pressure.
• Only three tackles for Okereke. Just hard to find anyone who had an impactful game yesterday. A flat effort all around.
• McCloud rotated in for Jackson on some run downs. Jackson had a rough day in coverage, especially considering the Saints' WR corps without Olave. Gave up two third-and-longs to sixth-round rookie AT Perry, who had five catches entering yesterday.
• Pinnock had the Giants' lone sack on a third-down blitz. He was flagged for a questionable PI in the end zone on third down in the fourth quarter.
With 100% of snaps. Coaches must have really seen something with him.
