...that Lion's piano playin' immortal, Joey Harrington!
If you look at the stats, they're scarily similar.
Not only that, Harrington lasted six seasons with the woeful Lions and, oh look, here comes season six for Jones.
Oh, and if you look at pictures, they even LOOK like the same guy, right up to the weird left eye.
Just sayin'...

He is a better player than Harrington. Harrington threw more INTs than TDs, he was a turnover machine, and his yards per attempt and completion % were dreadful. A historical level bust. Jones is merely a mediocre bottom third QB.

jones is a mediocre starter and he can’t lift this pathetic franchise. But his stats are totally different and much better than joey h.

Not at all...
The "hate", as you call it, is there because DJ is not very good. It's infuriating that the team continues to support DJ and we are stuck with him for at least 1 more season.

The "love" on the other hand, is completely inexplicable. Excuse, after excuse, after excuse for DJ's failings as a competent starter.

Was Harrington a runner though?
