Zimmer, 67, is the third-winningest head coach in #Vikings history and long respected for his defensive prowess. A big hire for Dallas, where Zimmer previously coached from 1994-2006.

That said, I'm less scared of Zimmer today than years ago.
Zimmer is doing Dallas a favor getting them to 2025.
In 2025 Dallas will have a new head coach and coaching staff.
Zimmer might be angling to get his name out there should the Dallas defense perform above expectations this year.
For a one year hire he should be able to hold down the fort.
