Good question. Only thing I can think of is the falsified documentation. Sort of how everyone steals signs, but the MLB singled out the Astros for punishment. Probably because of how blatant and far it went.

I could see that. Meaning that the player complained to the PA about it? Not trying to make baseless accusations (this is completely out my ass), but Guillorme is my first thought. If I recall his father made some comments, and it would explain why they let him go and paid Wendle twice as much.

The person acknowledged "this happens all the time" but in this case the PA was pushing the issue and that's what the "difference" is here. I have my guesses too but the difference here is apparently the PA involvement.
