Break give this team to gel
larryflower37 : 2/10/2024 10:01 pm : link
And there is a chance Randle is back, OG should be a couple weeks after. .
The talent is there so I am not concerned right now.

OG will probably be back a week or 2 after all star break by the time break is over it sgoing to be 2 and a half weeks..

Knicks can get these next 2

Shit happens they were due for one of these especially with the injuries. But Taj Gibson isn’t an NBA player anymore. He has to go. And Deuce got torched on D by Mcconell tonight.
They look tired. Guys are playing a ton of minutes
Larry in Pencilvania : 2/10/2024 10:41 pm : link
Just make it through Wednesday with no injuries. It'll be a week and a half towards OG & Randle being reevaluated. I wouldn't play IHart until the Sixers game.

Can't be upset with no center and an exhausted team
The long rotation with
Peter from NH (formerly CT) : 2/10/2024 11:07 pm : link
Precious, Hart and Taj against a scoring team makes no sense to me. The extra defense from that alignment was doing nothing. Indy only had to guard Brunson DV and kind of precious. Hart and Taj are nonentities offensively right now.

Brunson has an ankle, Hart has a knee, they a couple of new players that haven’t practiced with the team yet, etc. The All Star break may not “solve” much but it is desperately needed
Get healthy
ajr2456 : 2/11/2024 8:19 am : link
And get the 3 seed and avoid Boston until the ECF.
The good news is you know you have guys coming back
nygiants16 : 2/11/2024 8:24 am : link
OG you know will be back, Ihart will be back..

Randle is the only question mark, and we will know for sure in a week or so
They should have a better idea on Randle next

Just curious who else did they have to play instead? Did you want them to pull guys out of thin air? Bogdanovich stepped off the plane and played 32 minutes. Burks 21. We were playing a potential top 5 seed in the conference and we were missing 3 starters. Including our 2nd best player. We were FUBAR.
Any medical updates on Randle and Mitch?
Rick in Dallas : 2/11/2024 9:17 am : link
I fear Brunson is going to get burned out playing all these minutes
Hopefully, we get these guys back healthy with about 10 games to go on regular season.

I know good bigs aren't readily available but there has to be a better option than Taj Gibson. There is zero point in having him out there. Can't play anymore.

This is like DJ/Devito/Taylor all getting hurt at the same time and getting upset that Mike Glennon is starting games - what can you do except play the hand your dealt?

Sims will probably be back on Monday so that can change alot.

I think people are understandably frustrated that we got a glimpse of the legit contender this team could be, and immediately watched players drop like flies. Nobody’s fault, just sucks.

The only fault I saw, and I said this to start the season so it’s not hindsight, is that going into the season without a quality big man to back up Randle was a hole in the lineup. If they had had one legitimate PF/C to begin the season and not view Hart is a good enough back up because he rebounds they wouldn’t have been caught as short handed

I think there are better options on the G-league team than Taj Gibson. He can barely move out there.

It was always only a short term plan because they couldn’t find anybody decent. Trading for OG and Precious provided the depth they needed. But nobody’s deep enough to handle losing 4 big men at one time.

I’m talking about going into the season, it was a real weakness in the lineup that should have addressed imo

They did address it. With OG and Precious. They made it to that point just fine, so I’m not exactly sure what your point is here?

My point was that they would have been better had they had someone additional to begin the season. I’m not sure how anyone could argue if there was one additional big on this roster it wouldn’t be helpful.
and play over who?
nygiants16 : 2/11/2024 3:36 pm : link
that would of made it a 10 man rotation
Yeah you can only prepare for so many injuries
Stu11 : 2/11/2024 3:41 pm : link
The one beef you have is Taj. Sure a guy like Biyumbo would be better but it takes desire from a player to sign too. Maybe useful bigs out there didn't want to sign here
Players know
nygiants16 : 2/11/2024 3:43 pm : link
when this team is healthy there is no room for a player in the roation, they arent signing to sit on the bench..

OG and Hartenstein back..I mean the rotation is full and then Randle back that pushes Mcbride to the bench

I usually agree w you Steve and I agree we were a little light on bigs to start the season, but i think they corrected that. Not including Taj (he should be retired), with Precious and Bojan (sort of), we have 7 bigs. Problem is 5 are injured. Hard for any team to overcome losing top 3 Cs and top 2 Fs.

We're in desperate times. I know nothing about the G league team, but agree would rather take chance w whoever might be there vs. wheeling the Corpse of Taj out there.

Thibs needs to go a little smaller to start this game, even if Sengun plays, Precious can guard him, Rockets are not a big team..

Precious, BOjan, Hart, DDV, Brunson...Spread the floor and let Brunson work

As far I'm concerned the LeBron ship sailed in 2010
Stu11 : 2/12/2024 2:00 pm : link
This team does not need some mythical ball dominant superstar. Brunson is the best ball dominant PG we've had since Clyde. Why mess with that? Let's see how healthy we get and how the post season goes. My feeling is that we'll need improvement around the margins and not some superstar.

Knicks Film School explained what the Knicks will most likely do
Larry in Pencilvania : 2/12/2024 2:37 pm : link
According to the CBA teams must have 14 players under contract. The Knicks have twelve. They get a 14 day grace period to get to 14. They most likely won't sign a vet because they cost more. What they think will happen is they sign two bodies from the g league team or a player who is what is considered their rookie year. The reasoning is a vet with X amount of years service costs double what a a player considered a rookie costs.

Keep in mind any vet signed to be on the end of the bench isn't going to play. No very will want to sign here anyway because they won't have an opportunity to play, as many of you have said.
