Per Schefter...Toney won't play in Super Bowl LVIII

KingBlue : 2/11/2024 8:44 am
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Toney will not play on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, potentially bringing an end to his career in Kansas City.

Kadarius Toney has been removed from the injury report ahead of Super Bowl LVIII but the Kansas City Chiefs still intend to sit him.

News that he’ll be benched won’t sit well with Toney, so expect another social media meltdown that he later blames on the Giants and their fans

has played much better without Toni why would they even want him back? He is done and I would be surprised if someone will even sign him next year.

I suspect he'll be out of the league soon.
So...does he go to the UFL

if it's still in business or is he entirely out of organized football completely by 2024/2025?
Toney not playing is a big blow to San Fran's chances tonight

This doesn't ever get old.
Maybe Jim Nantz can ask Kelce

On the podium after the game if he is still confused about how the Giants let him out of the building.
They're gonna have to choose whether or not to pick up his 5th year
Optimus-NY : 2/11/2024 8:54 am : link
option this off-season. It's pretty obvious which direction they're leaning, lol. The trade was worth it to them last year based on what he did in the Super Bowl against Philthy. Like it or not, without him, the Eagles would've won the SB last season. He was the difference.

Having said all that, I don't know how he survives the offseason with them based on how kray-kray he's been lately. Someone will take a gamble on him in 2024. Best case scenario for the Chiefs would be to hope he stays quiet this off-season and does what he should---phat chance---then they deal him off for pennies to someone who needs a returner in training camp. This guys is clearly not a normal human being though.

If Toney helping beat the Eagles in the SB is the one thing he did right in his entire career, he’s still a hero of sorts

But regardless, doesn’t seem long for a league where a new fleet of talented WRs with their heads screwed on more straight gets drafted every year
Man, I just did NOT see this coming

Fortunate enough to play an amazing game and get paid, then reach the big game again, and he's such a child and liability as a player he's benched, all while recently ranting against NYG fans years later because we all realize what a terrible draft pick he was. How did he make it past our "experts" and actually get selected as a top prospect? I don't see how you continue in the NFL if you support that pick.

The NFL is FULL of mongos, from the playing field to the coaching staff to the front office to the owner's box. The fact the NYG were able to deal him away to ANYONE was evidence enough of that.

root for Chiefs. I like Andy Reid and want him to get into that elite class of coaches with three rings. But if they do activate Toney, I’m pulling for the Niners in a nail biter with Purdy pulling off a late, game-winning drive.
His punt return did not win the SB
averagejoe : 2/11/2024 10:19 am : link
It is possible KC could have hit a big play on offense and still won . His TD was a complete botched assignment. This turd barely played in the SB and receives a ton of credit. Then his play this year was mostly horrific and not at all productive. KC won because of their QB and HC . Not Kadarius Toney .

Well, no one told me about her, what could I do?
Well, no one told me about her, though they all knew
But it's too late to say you're sorry
How would I know, why should I care?
Please don't bother tryin' to find her
She's not there

Stupid is as stupid does

I feel the same way, and in addition can easily root for Steve Spagnuolo getting another ring.

Maybe he'll be up in the booth with Taylor Swift

This is what I see happening
Jay on the Island : 2/11/2024 11:34 am : link
The Chiefs will release him after the Superbowl. They would do it before but they don't want to deal with a major distraction before the game.

Toney will then sign with a team like Dallas for the league minimum with incentives. He will be "injured" during most if not all of training camp and then released and his NFL career will be over nearly as fast as DeAndre Baker's.
What a waste

I dispute the fact that Toney did anything to help the Chief SB win
PatersonPlank : 2/11/2024 1:01 pm : link
He caught a wide open, 9 yd pass that was a brilliant scheme play. Any player on the Chiefs, including their OL players if eligible, could have done the same. Hell I bet I could have made it into the endzone, there was no defender close.

Didn't he have a huge kick return or punt return also? As much as I dislike Toney and think he's a fucking idiot (as well as an injury prone WR who is a shitty use of a roster spot), I don't think it's really disputable he definitely helped KC beat the Eagles.

And thank god for it. Much rather have Toney get a ring than the Eagles get their 2nd.

C'mon dude, I don't like him either and he's a bust of a first round pick but his punt return was a HUGE play in the game.

What KC could have done is just speculation - his return did happen.

And, easy or not - he did catch a TD pass. He was a big part of the win.
