Just had the stadium PA announcer go out over the air
I liked it but apparently not too many did
Yes. it was good.
Romo, and even worse Olsen, like most of them just plain talk too much. They never shut up but they tell you nothing, and invariably contradict themselves eventually. It's a visual medium. There's no dead time like on radio.
I remember watching this as a kid, and it was advertised you'd hear the hitting on the field. You never did, until the last few minutes when they turned up the mic.
At least that's what I remember. Was a dud, and of course it never returned.
If someone doesn't like him, that is good too. That is why there is vanilla and chocolate ice cream. It is the individual poster's OPINION. Does he talk too much sometimes. Yes. It is what he is paid to do. He sees things on the field and calls out mistakes as he sees them. He just speaks to what he sees as it happens. I can understand it annoying people - but there is also the mute button on the remote.
BBI sometimes becomes a high school pile on session.
He was fine yesterday and Nantz was on his game for once.
He’s a tough listen at times because he’s too wordy and uses ridiculous adverbs and adjectives to describe regular plays. Not every catch or throw is “amazing”. I do think he’s the worst of the lead analyst at this point although we’ll have to wait and see on Brady. Best to worst on the A team - Collinsworth, Aikman, Herbstreit, Romo, Fox TBD.
He's not the greatest, but I never felt the need to mute to TV.
He's a bit chatty but his insight is good.
Love how people get on him telling the QBs what they should do since he never played in a SB. Who cares? He's there to do just that.
No one likes anyone today. It's like the half time show lol
Romo should get some heck though for talking over the final play....that's Nance's spot.
Over the final play, and over the celebration. I rewatched the end of the game last night, he couldn’t even be quiet for 2 seconds after the game-winning score.
I guarantee you the folks in the CBS truck and CBS Sports execs were praying he would shut the hell up in that moment.
Compare that to “The Catch”, where there was only crowd noise and video for a full 25 seconds after Dwight Clark came down with it.
“Manning lobs it, Burress alone, touchdown New York!” Followed by 45 seconds of silence all the way through the extra point.
It’s TV sports broadcasting 101. Shut the fuck up, Tony.
Isn't this a little harsh? I mean you can think he's shitty at his broadcasting job, and you can even think he was a shitty NFL QB but he did rise pretty close to the pinnacle of the sports world (even to accomplish what he did puts him in the top 1% or less), so sure he's not Mahomes or Brady but relatively speaking compared to the average person, he's a loser?
How do you evaluate yourself? hopefully you're not as harsh as a self-critic or you'd probably be suicidal.
pj, lol...the times we live in bring out the best in people (speaking of the poster and his ilk you cite)...someone above cited this phenomenon relative to hate on broadcasters generally: imagine when it comes to stuff that really matters
And then I am good. Best was when I got some games through NFL Europe where I just got the game sounds and then the commentators would speak between quarters.

You worry me to death
You talk too much
You even worry my pet
You just talk...
Talk too much
You talk about people
That you don't know
You talk about people
Wherever you go
You just talk...
Talk too much
You talk about people
That you've never seen
You talk about people
You can make me scream
You just talk...
Talk too much
