Just pure throwing strength not “arm talent”/aesthetics so guys like
Jeff George are out for me as he threw a beautiful ball and did have a cannon as well.
Strongest 2 for me were Elway and Vick. Even more amazing that they were not tall QBs. Vick was just such a freak. JaMarcus Russell was up there and so was Dan McGuire, Mark’s younger brother who was also 6’6” and could throw the ball 80 yards. Just wasn’t a good QB for the Seahawks.
15 yard catch.I said "who the hell is that? "
I was told Y.A. Title
cue the photo with the blood streaming down the sides of his head
Elway was that generations Allen (or visa versa)
Horrendous player though.

And not sure where the poster got the idea he was not big. He was a large man. 6 foot 4 and listed at 215 to 220 but probably even a little bigger. And this was in the 1980s.

I attended Phillipsburg High School in northwest Jersey. We're a football and wrestling powerhouse. Before my time there, we had a player named Jim Clymer who went to Stanford and played with Elway in the '80s. I have been out with Jim a few times and spoke to him about playing with Elway.
Jim told me when he first practiced with Elway he was overwhelmed by the ball velocity. He couldn't react quickly enough to catch the ball with just his hands. So, he caught nearly everything with his body. When practice ended, he took off his shirt and noticed a red mark on his chest that was very painful. He looked in the mirror and could see the cross at the end of the ball basically tattooed into his skin.
The "Elway Cross". It was a real thing...
