It cant just be the draft in regards to starting OL
Good call on Guard, we need at least one good veteran guard, if not two.
I second that. OG should be a priority in FA. We need someone who can play at a plus level from day 1. We can't keep waiting and hoping for guys to develop alone.
Regardless if we are drafting a WR early, the Giants need to solve the WR issue with multiple players. Unfortunately, there are no really good options at WR so we may have to go the trade route at WR and FA at G. Those 2 positions cant be ignored like they were last year.
I dont want Barkley back. He is going to want $10 mil plus from the Giants and his production doesn't warrant that kind of money. I think they rate him way to high on the FA list. He had a poor season and he has a lot of lower leg injuries. buyer beware.
I honestly think Schoen and Daboll are on the hot seat. They need to win now so I think they will be active in FA and the trade market. They bet on DJ, I was in favor of that, but they didnt have to resign him and now they have to prove they were right. I dont think the Giants go QB unless a guy drops. Stripping the team of draft picks when there is a real lack of talent will only set up a new QB to fail. Every successful QB that comes into the league has a supporting cast. The ones that fail generally dont.
Team needs are WR1, G, Edge and CB. Neal will get one more shot with the new OL coach at RT then be moved to G if he fails. He may be a great G and the new OL coach has to have the balls to make that move if necessary. Thibs needs to take a leap forward. Our draft picks all have to make a jump in order for the team to be successful. Our best player last year was a FA addition.
That can stabilize the guard play to me is the biggest priority. Hunt, Dotson, Onwenu, Jonah Jackson, take your pick, give me a good Guard, and I wouldn't be opposed to two of them.
I also would love to see Chris Jones as a Giant. He would be perfect to pair with Lawrence and really create havoc for opposing OLs, but it seems unrealistic to be able to pay him, particularly paying Lawrence what he's making as well. But a man can dream.
What are Bricillo's scheme tendencies between Gap and Zone?
Our WRs might be better than KC. Too bad the Chiefs have Mahomes @ QB & we have that fraud behind center, but alas...
I don't X is coming back. He hired some agent who reps safeties who have pulled in some serious coin. And-from the beats like Duggan-X isn't giving us a hometown discount, nor do I blame him. NFL careers are short...dudes should get as much $ as the market dictates.
He might want to with Wink gone. But, I don't really care. Since returning from his accident last year, I think he has been a good, not great player. I wouldn't mind re-signing him, but not at the $ he is looking for. I'm happy moving on with Belton and Pinnock, and Owens as the #3 S.
Onwenu gives you flexibility to flip to RT as well when needed. I would bring back X, sign a guard and think long and hard about not bringing back SB unless its cap friendly.
And they just won the super bowl.. yeah one of the studs at top end of draft would be great.. just don't sign another Tate or Golladay..
Kind of disagree. Rice is really good, and when you include Kelce, who is more of a receiving TE than a blocker, I think it tilts it to KC slightly. MVS and Watson are decent pieces, especially Watson, who I wanted the Giants to make a play for last offseason. You'rennot going to be blown away by him but he has good speed and is Mr. Dependable. Really like his game, particularly considering his cost.
All that said, going forward, I do think the Giants have more upside with Hyatt in particular. And I expect them to add a top prospect or free agent at the position. Of course, K.C. could do this as well and it should be a high priority for them. 32 is a good spot to land a difference-making receiver for them in a deep WR class.
And I haven't forgotten about Waller, but he needs to be more available. I've said this before, I expect he'll be back next year.
After WR and Guard, the position I want them to add the most on offense is a great blocking TE. The last one they had was Rhett Ellison in Saquon's rookie and sophomore seasons. Ellison fell off a cliff his 2nd year here and retired after that season. But it's absolutely not a coincidence that Saquon's best season was his rookie year when Ellison was a stud in the run blocking department. They really have been missing that blocking efficiency at the position since then. To me it's the most under-talked about aspect of the offense needing improvement. It's not just the OL, folks.

I’ll take Pittman, that guy is the real deal and has done well even with poor QB play. He’s what we thought Golladay could be.
Interesting they list the Giants being an option for Josh Jacobs. I just don’t see the Giants signing any expensive RB unless it’s Barkley.

Michael Onwenu - Positionally versatile, can play OT and OG. Carmen Bricillo was the Pats offensive line coach the year Onwenu was drafted.

Two homerun signings I would think…
Should have a finite value, but I haven't a clue what that this.
Pollard being a FA, maybe Barkley wears a Star next year....

Signing FA WRs is a very expensive proposition. Doubt we have anywhere near that kind of FA money.

And we need two of them plus a swing OT

Guess they don't expect the Giants to be very active in free agency.

i like Calvin he is from my neighborhood and went to school with my cheerleader step daughter.
And I agree finding a G would work. Going aggressively on Robert Hunt isn't a bad idea. Or taking a bigger chance with Nick Allegretti.
Josh Ushe would be worth kicking the tires. He was more productive opposite Judon in 2022. Maybe he would be a good again opposite KT...?
Huff and Thibs with AO as the 3rd ER is a good start to the offseason.

100%!! I would like to see proven vets, not the draft for two guards. They can't mess with this any longer.
Rashee Rice, IMV, is going to be really good.
But in totality, I think you are probably right. At the trade deadline, I was somewhat surprised the Chiefs didn't make a pitch for Slayton.
Clearly, they trusted their plan and it paid the biggest dividend.
