Eric's thread got me thinking about Nicks. Man, what could have been if not for injuries. He had Canton potential...he was THAT good. He was UFB during that '11 postseason run. The following season, he had that incredible game vs. Tampa in Week 2, but came up lame near the end of the game. I'm sure he had good games following that, but that Tampa game-to me @ least-was his final 'Wow, Nicks is a machine' game.
Great Giant, but again...what could have been? The same could be said for VC too.

Got a spin in his hips. Jukes! Tough. Thanks for the post.
Watched some Victor Cruz highlights after that. Damn, two incredible wideouts whose careers were cut short. Sigh. Also, how many of those games we won back then. Double sigh.

Recall that Super Bowl season of 2011 when the Giants lost a tight regular season matchup with Green Bay in the final moments. But not because of Nicks...he dominated and kept the Giants in the game. A classic performance.
We lost that game but it signaled to the NFL that the Giants would be a tough out if we reached the playoffs.
And we know what happened.

And nobody can forget Nicks playoff performance in the 2012 superbowl run:
28 catches for 444 yards and 4tds
Nicks was the anti obj: tough as nails and played his best in the biggest games.
Not sure about the HOF but certainly one of the better WR's in the league.
Big time performer and he just seemed like a great team player who was all about the team. What he accomplished in the playoffs in year 3 was incredible. He could win matchups against any kind of coverage and corner imv.

Yeah it was really sad he never got a good 2nd contract due to injury. At least the rookies made more back then
Only guy in the NFL similar to Nicks is aj brown, good luck getting the next Hakeem the dream. I do like Xavier Leggette a lot for our pick at 39

I didn't know he knew card magic. I'd think the gloves would make that harder.
Well, a lot of fans blamed Eli for those short careers. So now I guess we don’t have to worry about WR injuries.

He didn't force a card on her, so she must have been in on the trick, selecting the card he has palmed.
That was awesome
Never saw that. Thanks

I mean Nicks last year 27 years old, Steve Smith last year 27 years old, Victor Cruz last good year 27 years old, OBJ last good year 27 years old. It is kind of amazing really.

That is ridiculous whoever blamed Eli, all the injuries were due to lower body ailments. Nicks was particularly devastating as that lis franc injury just compounded into other lower extremity issues and he really never was the same which prevented him from ever getting a good 2nd contract.
I could see that, I also see the Leggette comparison as Leggette seems very good at catching balls when contested contorting his body just right to make the grab which Nicks was so good at. We really don't win that 2012 superbowl without Nicks. Him and Eli had such great chemistry if Nicks had any chance to catch a ball Eli would put it out there for him to make magic happen
