Will NFL Players Participate In 2028 Olympics Flag Football?

Unless they get major dollars from sponsors AND get permission from their clubs. I could see maybe 2nd tier players doing this, but not starters.

I could see a Trubinsky or DeVito doing this, for example. Of course, Goodell may get involved here...if so, all bets are off.

Stars in the NFL that have told me they'd love to play in the Olympics. If I remember correctly both Tyreek & Mahomes said publicly they'd love to play. CMC, Saquon, Ja'Marr & JJettas have all told me they want to play. Now whether it actually happens is a different story.

seems like a perfect opportunity for the Golden Boy to put on the number 12 Jersey one more time without getting hit and "grow the game globally".

Yeah I'm curious to see if teams will allow players to participate. Soccer teams allow their players to play in all kinds of tournaments with their Country as does the NBA. If it was tackle football I'd say no shot, but I could see them allowing the players to play flag.

Mahomes and Tyreek Hill would be interested in playing, and the head of the NFLPA is giving his thumbs up to the idea.

I highly doubt Brady is going to play. He will be 50-51 years old and 6 years out of football by the time this happens.

The NFL opened this can of worms by having a flag football game in the Pro Bowl. The players are going to ask why it's ok to play that and not the Olympics.

Again, IMO having the NFL players in the Olympics is something I think Goodell might push. Remember the NBA's Olympic "Dream Team" and how the NBA benefited from that world wide? I could see the NFL looking at those dollars.

Word is out the selection committee will avoid all Giants o-lineman. (:-(

Isn't the National team priority in soccer though? I know in international cricket, it's national team foremost then any leagues they want to play in are secondary.

teams allowed players to participate, the moment a player blew out their knee and ruined their chances of extending a contract or career is the exact moment it would stop. It will never happen!

in a manufactured event. Besides, XFL and/or college players should be good enough to win gold in an event few other countries play.
