You know NFL.com is looking for content when grading draft classes a month after the season ended.

Definitely need at least 2-3 years before a Draft Class can be fairly assessed. Not entirely clear what NFL.com's approach is, but they do list the number of games the rookies played in and/or started.
C’mon.

It’s fair. It’s not a final grade, just a progress report.

I'm not too fond of polls like this.
It is purely subjective.

What are the criteria that were used to create the ranking?
Is it based on performance, potential, starts, games played, statistics, etc.

trading up

Not a big fan of trading up which the giants did twice. Not sure that they could not have had Banks without trading up or that he is better than Joey Porter Jr. Hyatt is a good player but many good players were taken after him including Puka Nacua.

Easy to say now. Did anyone forsee a 5th round pick in nacua doing what he did? No way.

Yeah hindsight it 20/20. If everyone knew Nacua would be as good as he was, he wouldn't have lasted till the 5th round.
Even based on 1 year, I don't think the Giants are #27

I would put it in the mid-tier. Two starters and a WR that averaged 16 yards per catch is impressive.

Gray was a miss, and Hawkins is a big question mark IMO. But hell, those were 5th and 6th round picks.

As far as playing time, you also you really have to question the staff and their lack of getting Hyatt involved.

I also was pretty surprised how little playing time Jordan Riley got, considering how good he looked in preseason.
Seems about right

Interesting that 3 of the bottom 6 are in the NFC East

Seems like the Rams had a pretty good vision for it
How the hell are the Rams...

In this case, yes hindsight is 20/20, in the case of not taking Micah Parsons, not so much.
Anyone have an idea
M.S. : 2/18/2024 12:14 pm : link

As to what percentage of Giants college scouts (the ones who are on the road practically ever day during the fall) that Joe Schoen has turned over since he got here?
Schoen and his team have to be better.
The_Boss : 2/18/2024 12:25 pm : link
As much as I want to believe in this regime, the progress forward has not been there. They may not be long here.
Fair indeed
Spider43 : 2/18/2024 1:35 pm : link
No problem with it.
23 rookie grade
Cheech d : 2/18/2024 2:43 pm : link
Fair grade but 1 year grades don’t impress me.
3 year grades do.

So a grading of a draft class a month after the season ends is somehow less meaningful that the plethora of draft grades that are assigned in the days after the draft is completed, sometimes on the evening of day 3???? I see this as a nice summary of how each teams class fared after their first season. Its my no means a final grade...takes 3 and sometimes even 4 seasons to get a true read on the success or failure of a draft class.
Let’s see how this plays out next year,
Simms11 : 2/18/2024 4:22 pm : link
after a full season of development in the NFL, before we start saying this class was poor.
Schoen has not impressed with his drafting
kelly : 2/18/2024 6:01 pm : link
He has to do much better or we will not improve.
How Did NFL.com
Jeffrey : 2/19/2024 5:46 pm : link
rate the Giants' 22 draft class? That would be interesting.
