That's the spirit! I'm in the building as well tonight.
they're called slides. some manufacturers say they aid in recovery. hockey players feet take a beating (as you know - goalies probably worse). I think they're just convenient. All the usual suspect manufacturers make them (Bauer, CCM, Nike, Warrior, etc.) - pretty much the same things I had 20 years ago from Adidas.

We’re all settled at MetLife, where the wind is no joke and I’m glad to be inside. Sounds like real start time will be 3:45 due to light glare issue on the ice.

Came here to see if that was true. I guess it is.

JBQ and pj, got it and we officials put them on pre- and post-game, as you cite, but it was 24 degrees out!! I guess that’s what growing up in SWE and QUE will do for you

I am a hockey novice and I have heard that the ice at MSG is notoriously of poor quality. Can anyone share some info about the difference the ice today vs MSG's? Which is better and why is what I'm asking.

Generally speaking the colder the temps the better the ice surface. MSG is warm, like most professional sports team arenas, so the ice surface isn't that great. I'm not speaking from experience b/c I have not been on the MetLife ice, but being cold out (upper 30's?) I bet it's better than MSG and most arenas.
the outdoor games have problems when the temp gets warm or the sun is beating down on the ice and there is some melting. I don't think they'll have that problem today, especially with the pushed back start time (which was due to glare but I think it will help with the ice surface too)
from the early embarrassment. And by embarrassment, I'm talking about having our jersey worn by those jokers who played between periods. WTF was that, did they find those guys playing in the subway and felt bad that no one was giving them any money?

Jonathan Quick will honor New York Giants legends Lawrence Taylor and Michael Strahan with a beautiful airbrush.

Last night's game, though ABC production was generally poor, there were some excellent camera angles top down, prolly using NFL cam-on-a-wire.

Than the whole season*
It was really, really bad. Like embarrassing.
It was on a follow through. That is very clearly not a penalty.
