M.S. : 2/19/2024 12:33 pm

“Snell has an offer on the table from the Yankees, a source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand… The news comes one day after USA Today’s Bob Nightengale reported that the Bronx Bombers still have “serious interest” in Snell…”

After a couple of weeks of Michael Kay saying it wouldn't happen after they signed Stroman
I wasn't crazy about going after him when FA started

Due to his age and wildness at times but at this point I'd give him a short term 2-3 year deal for big $. Syncs up with Cole's timeline.
They already made him an offer a while back and snell

Countered asking for an extra $100M and like 3 more years.

So I'm sure the offer is probably the original one. Convo is probably like, "good luck with that offer, come back to us if you change your mind."
There were a bunch of YouTube videos out yesterday...

suggesting that the Yanks gave Snell a new shorter-term offer, for like 3 yrs. at $105M.

These videos are by 20-somrthing vloggers, so I'm not sure how credible the reports are.

Thought it was rumored that they offered 1 year $35 mill - higher one year deal than multi-year AAV.
Pitchers and catchers have reported already

If he was in fact offered around 3/100 he really thinks he's doing better than that?
I think

Snell is the most likely to take a shorter deal based on age but at the same time, I am sure that other teams will also bid for him under those circumstances. It would be nice if it is a short-term contract in the $35M range but...

Also, I think the Boras client list is waiting for a big spending team to become desperate because they suffered a spring training injury to a star player or key contributor. Having said that, there's no way that all five of them are going to get that lucky so someone will have to take a shorter deal or risk losing a year.
Michael Kay says the Yankees aren't interested....
GFAN52 : 2/19/2024 7:38 pm : link
that this was all leaked by Boras to generate league interest.

Quite a few

pitchers still available: Snell, Montgomery, T Bauer. Curious that ST has started and the NL Cy Young winner doesn't have a contract.
