1) Wiliams 2) Maye 3) JJ 4) MHJ 5) Fuaga 6. Las Vegas Raiders (via NYG) - Jayden Daniels (QB - LSU) Christian's Grade: 77.0 (NFL Starter) Trade details: Las Vegas sends No. 13, No. 44, a 2025 1st, and a 2025 2nd to New York for No. 6 and No. 140. In this scenario, the Giants loved three quarterbacks who all came off the board. The Raiders hop in front of the Falcons and get their new franchise quarterback, a dynamic athlete with elite rushing ability and deep ball accuracy. |
Christian's Grade: 81.5 (Quality NFL Starter)
The Giants have gone down this road before, but they're getting the right player this time. Latham has inside-outside versatility and gives the Giants another piece in front of Daniel Jones as they attempt to find their future at the quarterback position.
39. NYG - Edgerrin Cooper (LB - Texas A&M)
44. NYG - Xavier Legette (WR - South Carolina)
47. NYG - Tyler Nubin (S - Minnesota)
I would probably go Latu or Verse at #13
I’d probably consider using 2 of the 2nd rounders to move back into round 1 for Nix.
Best WR available with the remaining 2nd rounder.
How about the coaches get something out of the high draft picks they already have on the roster?
In other observations, this guy has Brian Thomas and Troy Franklin going way higher than I've seen before
A aggressive trade back if executed well (and with a little luck) can be a franchise changer imv. It just may take a couple years to see the true value.
That would be awful.
At some point you have to pay up to lock in a franchise QB.
If Daniels is sitting there, count your blessing and run to the podium.

Troy Franklin seems to be going higher and higher with every mock or prospect ranking I see.
I'd probably take the FSU Edge instead at 13.
But, overall, I'd be disappointed.

They have JJ going at 3.
No therapist would work with anyone on this board.
The Giants should reject the trade if they love Daniels, but accept it immediately if they do not.
Trading down going to 13 takes them beyond an impact player.
However, if this were the trade, then I would take Murphy, Thrice, Leggett, and Suamataia.
Build the lines and a WR.
If he does it, I hope you are fired.
Memory Lane. Joe Schoen, press conference, March 8, 2023 after re-signing Jones:
I forgot just how glowingly Schoen felt about Jones. With only six games played and the total team failure, be prepared with 2023 to be viewed by Schoen and the rest at 1925 Giants Way as another outlier... ;)
Lol, that's a good analogy and I agree. Even further than your point. I think if JJM, JD or DM are on the board and he trades then I will have lost all faith in him tbh.

And Schoen passes, he should be fired on the spot. Stockpiling chairs on the Titanic is no way to go through life son...

But again, I knew from doing work on Daniel coming out of the draft, the type of person he was. From everybody in the building, the type of person he was, his work ethic. He has all the physical tools. He's athletic. He can make all the throws. Just the situation he was in, I do think you have to look into that. Year two and three, what he went through. The talent that was around him, the injuries. There's a lot that went into it. But being around Daniel for the last 13 months and seeing him play and the fourth-quarter comebacks and winning a playoff game on the road, there's a lot of positives that a 25-year-old young man just displayed throughout the season. And the upside, I've got a lot of belief in our staff and Daniel's work ethic and their relationship that will continue to grow, and Daniel will continue to get better. If he's just at his floor right now, I'm really excited about what his ceiling is going to be.

You have been absolutely spot on re Schoen. And I am now firmly in your camp that he is fully responsible for the DJ contract. I hope he pivots quickly. But I suspect he will triple down on his mistake. We will know for sure within the next ninety days.
If He or she is and alcoholic they might

I would stay put and take Daniels, but that trade would be tempting but as you said, hate the picks. I would take any of the corners, Verse and Latu before Latham. 2nd, taking a LB over Trice or Chop Robinson? Boo
I sense we get more if we don't take him ourselves
You might be right that they wouldn't get that much, but in that draft they only went back 9 spots (11 to 20) and I believe the drop from 6 to 13 is considered a bit bigger than that one value-wise.
We may want an additional 3rd.
The absolute weakest link last season was Neal, so either he has to get better or he has to be replaced.
Remember that trade made by the Vikings for Hershal Walker? That practically built Dallas' Superbowl Team.
We need more high round draft picks to build a better team.
