I know the Giants offense has been holding this team back but we can’t ignore the defense.
NYG has a big decision to make on Xavier McKinney. Many think he will be important to bring back because our new DC Bowen likes to run a lot of Cover 2 which many think will be a perfect fit for McKinney.
He will not be cheap to re-sign. But with Belton, Pinnock and the unknown Gerverius Owens, can the Giants look to invest more in the other glaring hole, which I believe is Edge Rusher.
I really like the idea of signing Bryce Huff. He is an up and coming player and we need a viable presence opposite KT. Huff is very strong and has a solid 2 way game. Edge is a very important position. Bowen doesn’t tend to blitz often so improving the front will be important.
What do you guys think is a better investment Huff or McKinney, if we had to choose?
Is he healed up from his injury?
If we decide to bring in a higher value edge, I expect it would be Danielle Hunter who is extremely close to Andre Patterson from all reports.
Edge Defenders I could see NYG bringing in include:
A.J Epenesa, Bills (36.1% snaps / 6.5 sacks) - drafted by Bills during Schoen's tenure.
D.J Wonnum, Vikings (73.2% snaps / 8 sacks in 2023) - played under Andre Patterson in 2020 and 2021.
Denico Autry, Titans (66.7% snaps /11.5 sacks in 2023) - played under Shane Bowen.
I think the Giants intend to develop Banks as the #1 corner.
Giants will most likely go to the bargain box if they want to sign an edge rusher. Imo, they should go after Leonard Floyd. Just a quick-twitch player with an explosive first step. He was huge for the Bills. Some other options would be, Bryce Huff, Jonathan Greenard, AJ Espena, Dorace Armstrong, and Denico Autry.
Giants should also look into a CB. Possibly Sean Murphy Bunting, Steven Nelson, or Kendall Fuller. As far as Safety, If McKinney doesn't resign, go get CJ Gardner Johnson. Dude is a player wherever he goes.

Still only 28. Would be a nice get on a 2-3 year deal
Is he healed up from his injury?
He tore the Achilles 3 years ago and last season had a back injury I expect him to be ready to go. He shouldn’t cost a ton and should be had with some incentive laden contract. I really liked him at Auburn coming out
While I think we should be wary of assuming that our new DC will run the exact same defense his former boss did, I have to think he had influence on how the DB’s were utilized.
If we don't draft a QB at 6, I wouldn't bat an eye if we took our EDGE1 over a WR.

Yeah I was thinking an Edge might be a possibility. Who do you like? Latu, Verse or Turner? I am leaning Turner as he is just non stop motor.
in 2023, Yiadom played 46.5% of defensive snaps and 54.4% of special teams snaps. He has 20 solo tackles, 11 assists, 14 Pass Def, 1 int and 1 fum rec.
He seems like the cheaper depth player we will look to add.
