Just because the team is not at full strngth he can make subs so guys are not completely gassed while leaving some starters on the court..

Guy in Miami does a really good job of it, its really not hard, they have a deep enoigh bench right now to do it

You are right they are undermanned but his subsititons right now are maddening, you got a guy on the bench that is a walking bucket, the celtics get hot and instead of bringing in a shooter to help Brunson, you bring in Jericho Sims...

Outside of Deuce the bench has been beyond awful tonight. He should have brought Deuce in during the 3rd qtr but outside of that it's hard for the coach to do anything when the best team in the NBA shoots 80% in a qtr.

the Knicks had 3 guys who couldnt shoot on the court..Celtics stayed home on DDV, and jist converged on Brunson with nowhere to go and if Hart Precious or ihart are wide open who cares..

Instead of adjusting and bringing in more shooters, Thibs leaned into it and it killed them..

Against the Sixers he went small and it worked, i dont know why he doesnt go to it more

He did adjust at half time. They took the paint away and made the Celtics shoot 3's and they go 9-11 in the 3rd. They didn't miss a shot for 3 qtrs. Unless Thibs pulled Jordan, Isaiah Thomas and Hakeem Olajuwan out of his ass this was not gonna be our night my friend.

And is 11-40 (27.5%) from the field in the last four games.

The point of trading for a guard at the deadline was supposed to be to get someone who could run the offense when Brunson takes a break. Burks ain't it.

This is where Mitch's defensive presence is so important, as he'd shut that down. For now,win as many as possible,but regardless,don't get more players injured by playing them in blowouts(Talking to you Thibs,Brunson came out last night with only 1:09 left in the game). We're pretty sure 2 of the 3 injured (OG,Mitch) will be back sometime in late March.Randle is the huge question mark. His game is physical & if the shoulder isn't 100%, he won't be able to play his game.But, if we get our roster back intact,matchups vs the Celtics & others change drastically & I like our chances versus anyone!

Mitch doesnt help against the Celtica because of KP, Mitch is not good extending..

I think OG is the bigger help in the matchup because then you go with OG at the 4 and Precious at the 5 and you got the ability to switch and help..

What pisses me off about KP is that Phil Jackson was right about him, but we never really got the benefit of it.

The Celtics hit like 65% percent of their shots inside the 3 point line in the first off that opened up the barrage of 3s in the the 3rd that ultimately cost them the game.

Mitch helps counteract that

Before he got hurt Mitch got better at extending this year. Listen Porzi has shot 56% from 3 this year vs us. No C can deal with that. Mitch has been real effective vs the Celts in recent years closing off the paint in drop coverage and his offensive rebounding is a real weapon vs them as it was last night keeping us in the game till Boston just got too hot. I think DD's lateral quickness is still compromised with the hammy and that hurt us vs Brown last night. I think if DD is 100% and we get OG back to guard Tatum and a somewhat effective Randle a playoff series vs then will be a whole different story than these regular season games have been.

vs the celtics, Randle usually does well against Brown and Og can guard Tatum..

DDV can then guard White and Brunson sticks to Holiday..

It would be dog fight type of series

You could effectively run a lineup of Deuce-Hart-OG-Bogi-Mitch at times and not be at risk of getting run out of the game

You do understand that they can change matchups if everyone's healthy?(although Thibs is sometimes as inflexible as a rock!) iHart could play the 4 & come out to cover KP, while OG plays the 3! The question would be,who adjusts to the other's lineup in that particular game's situation? If the Celtics were to shoot that well every game, no adjustment will help!

come out and shit the bed, it's going to be very hard to shut down their three point shooting.

Take away the easy shots in the paint, get your best perimeter defender back and get your second best offensive player back and you have a chance to beat them

is OG, because he can basically guard brown or tatum 1 on 1, there doesnt need tk be a double..

Most of the Celtics offense comes from Tatum or Brown drawing the defense and kicking for wide open 3s

The Celtics have really good ball movement and the Knicks got caught a step behind in some of their rotations because of that.

You have rotate less when a player like OG is able to guard an elite scorer 1 on 1. Just look back to some of the blowouts they had against good teams when OG was in the lineup. The impact he brings to the defense is invaluable. Same with Mitch in whatever limited minutes he's able to play.

I'm very curious to see a Brunson-DDV-OG-Precious-Mitch lineup at times, especially if they run into Cleveland or Milwaukee.

In that all 5 guys can score 20 on a given night and all 5 can bury the 3. So you really can't double all over the place. Agreed that's why OG and Mitch are so big against them. You need some of their shooting to be off, cut off the paint and really kill them on the glass. With all that shooting and scoring in the starting lineup they are a little soft in the rebounding dept. They will be a real tough out for sure.

The Knicks own the first round picks of the two teams with the worst records in the NBA.
