I can’t remember the ever caring about Mel Kipers opinion so the suggestion that anyone is going to “explode” over it is probably a bit of projection on your part.

I dunno, I think they have countless options. They don't have to draft a QB at all, and if they do, they don't have to draft one in the first two rounds.

There are some things that make their situation tricky:
1) DJ is hurt a lot. They need a competent backup.
2) DJ regressed last year. They probably need a QB who can legitimately compete for the starting job. That's probably not a rookie.
3) They already have a developmental QB on the roster who was pretty good for an UDFA last season. If they draft a QB late, he's essentially competing with De Vito for the 3rd QB spot. Assuming nobody in the Giants org thinks De Vito is their future starter, their need is a guy who can play Week 1.
then you can be assured that we won't see it in 2024 if one of them is the pick.
Don't get me wrong though, I like both WRs a good deal and picking one of them at #6 is not a bad pick at all. It's just not really looking at and taking the problem seriously.
