I tell you what, best pool purchase I've made was a Betta solar powered pool skimmer. I don't have a variable pool pump, so my skimmer isn't running all day. This thing is fantastic at picking up surface level debris that accumulates during the day.
This. I have the same size pool as you and this thing is magic. I’ve had mine for 5 years. I would highly recommend it.
I have a Dolphin and my buddy got Polaris, against my recommendation, but because it was conveniently available at a local shop. Few weeks in and his Polaris crapped. He had an atrocious experience with their customer service but eventually got it replaced. This could be an isolated incident but I probably won’t ever switch to Polaris.

I have a 20x40 inground gunite pool. If you're the one doing all the work buy the robot. I've had Hayward, I've had Aquabot...they all last 3-5 years before they break or need maintenance.
Still worth it, I run it 2-3 times a week with the pool filter on 24/7. Its great to turn on right before and after a party.
I also switched to salt water back in the day and now have had it for 8 years or so.

I should add that our pool is screened in. It's our first line of defense against crap in the pool. We do have plants around the pool, so some leaves get in, but nothing major like twigs.
The Zodiac MX6 is fine for us, but maybe not for those without a screen.
they are awesome. Mine (the Hayward Shark vac) is corded, but what I have found even more valuable than the robotic vacuum is this little "dust buster".
it goes on the end of a skimmer pole, is battery powered and is perfect for you just want to get one little thing out of the pool and need some kind of vacuum to do it. and don't want to go through the "hassle" of putting the shark in the pool (since mine is corded the kids can't swim while it's in there).
my property doesn't even have one tree on it, so I don't get a lot of stuff in my pool so the robot does great and it's a salt pool so maintenance is low to begin with, but this guy is my go-to.
The Volt cordless pool vacuum, mine was $125 or so.
Ours is a Dolphin too. This is out second one (the first lasted 10 years) and I agree they are awesome.

The best thing these things do is get the tiny pieces of sand from your concrete patio that always get into the pool
It is worth having a drink watching the robot clean. They are worth every penny
