Writing was on wall with Bosa and Hargrave deals and declining a restructure sealed the fate there. Expecting a few more big name cuts today as well.

I think, unless they agree to take much of his contract like how the Raiders did for Waller, the Chargers may be forced to cut Mack rather than find a suitor for his cap hit ($38.5 mil).

In what way do you think the Raiders absorbed much of Waller's contract?

Interested in OG Michael Onwenu need to understand that he is not using an agent.

This means that teams CANNOT begin negotiations with him today.

Need to wait until Wednesday when the official league year begins.

Contracts can be structured to have the bigger hits in future years.. Losing Jones's $'s from 2025 and beyond opens the door for us to add bigger contracts in the future.

The hot rumor is that the Giants are going to trade a 2nd round pick for him and then sign him to a huge long-term deal at around $25 -$30 Million per year with something like $90 - $100 Million guaranteed. Carolina and Burns are sort of like at an impasse.

Here We Go Again - The Cap
varco : 3/11/2024 9:38 am : link
Do the Giants have room to sign Burns? Ans: If the KC Chiefs have enough room to sign Jones, with virtually NO Cap Availability, the Giants or whoever can sign Burns. They just need to get creative and finagle the numbers like every other team does. Do you really believe that teams are cutting players they really want to keep because of the Cap? The reasons player get cut include the fact that the existing teams don't want them or because they view their compensation demands as being unreasonable or because the agents / players don't want to restructure the way the team wants to. Just my view.
The Giants have room to sign Burns even with no minimization
cosmicj : 3/11/2024 9:40 am : link
Of the cap hit in the early years of the contract. That would affect the Giants remaining signings so I expect Schoen to arrange for a deal with a small 2024 cap hit.
I wonder if the Niners are after Burns.

That would be an absolute terrifying D line. Albeit very expensive as well.

Will the Giants actually help to improve their team today, or will they only attract the aging, over the hill players, many who have a connection with Daboll?
The Giants actually have some money, but will the spend it to improve the OL? QB? RB? D line?

The #Eagles are preparing to circle not just Saquon Barkley, per sources, but also #Giants safety Xavier McKinney. Very aggressively, specifically with Barkley ($$).

Another team very interested in McKinney, per sources: The #Packers.

Green Bay did a lot of in-season homework on him as they look to add to their defense.

Either way: McKinney set to see some nice money. Giants have competition to retain him.
