On Tuesday, Penn State coach James Franklin suggested that Eagles G.M. Howie Roseman spoke directly to RB Saquon Barkley during the negotiating period, which would violate the tampering rule. On Wednesday, the Eagles said they only speak to player agents.

Eagles claimed tampering when the Cardinals hired Jonathan Gannon to be their HC.
In order to resolve this investigation, the two teams decided to swap third-round picks this year’s NFL draft. The Eagles received the No. 66 draft pick (third round) and sent the No. 94 pick (third round) and a 2024 fifth-round pick to the Cardinals.
If it were up to me, 20 first round picks, their one Lombardi trophy is rescinded, and Goodell simultaneously drone strikes Roseman, Sirianni, and the obnoxious security dude (Big Dom?).

Were the Eagles damaged by the Cardinals contacting Gannon? Obviously they would have been clear to eventually hire him as HC, but they didn't follow protocol along the way. Seems pretty similar.
This would occur if it can be proved that the illegal tampering injured the Giants and their ability to sign Barkley to a contract before free agency.
SanFran was docked a pick and forced to swap third-round picks with the Bears 2008, Lance Briggs.
In 2011 Detroit had a similar fine with the Chiefs over Jarrad Page.
It is possible that the Eagles would lose a pick and be forced to swap a forth for a third.

Seriously, until the day the NFL enacts any kind of negative action on the Eagles, I will refuse to anticipate any potential backlash against them.
I'm hoping there is a clause in Franklin's contract that gets him fired for being a tattle-tail.

If Roseman did speak with Barkley it will come out.
The NFL has excellent investigation services.
But before it gets there Godell will interview Roseman.
Godell has demonstrated that he will not tolerate when someone lies to him.
The penalty would be much worse if Roseman lied and was caught.
I expect Roseman will come clean and negotiate the terms of the penalty

I think the GM owners can only talk to agents during the tampering period, not the player. This alleges Roseman talked directly to Saquon

That is clear cut and imo a violation. What could giants look for in Compensation as our captain was tampered with?
