Mock Draft Trade Back/Bo Nix 4 Rounds

AROCK1000 : 3/17/2024 11:05 am
I know we are all clamoring to replace DJ,are perhaps even woke up envious of the Pittsburg Steelers for their pilfering of Fields from the Bears.....
To me unless Maye falls to us at #6,I would prefer to trade back and accumulate picks...here is what I wound up with.
26-Bo Nix QB
47-JT Sweat DT-our front four will be sickkkkkk
55-JT Sanders TE-who knows how long Waller is a Giant..
70-Jon Brooks RB-good place to go RB
110 Johnny Wilson WR-I know I know we need WR,but its the way things fell
125-Mason McCormick OG
Id absolutely loathe this...

Trade up or take a dominant player at a premium position like Nabers.

Don't f around.
Yikes

No way
When blue chips hit
The Dude : 3/17/2024 11:08 am : link
they can change a team. With the draft being roulette as is, take a swing at a blue chip.

Hard no.
No, thanks
Anakim : 3/17/2024 11:09 am : link
And BTW, 3 Texas players? When was the last time a team took three players from any school?
Trade back for quantity over quality...
GFAN52 : 3/17/2024 11:11 am : link
Nope
not for me...
DonQuixote : 3/17/2024 11:12 am : link
first, I want Maye to get drafted above us because I don't trust the Giants to avoid selecting him. I think he is the biggest bust potential among the top QBs.

second, Nix will not last that long. I like Nix and think he will go in the teens at the latest. I'd be happy if the G-men felt they need to grab him at 6.
you would have to drop no
Dave on the UWS : 3/17/2024 11:17 am : link
lower than 11 (because Denver is taking Nix at 12)
pilfering of Fields?
Shirk130 : 3/17/2024 11:17 am : link
No one wanted him and he would not have improved our situation. If we can't get Jones replacement at 6, pick the blue chip WR and keep building.
In such a strong QB draft....
Fishmanjim57 : 3/17/2024 11:19 am : link
Trading back is such a Gettleman approach to the situation. Rather than trade up to get an elite prospect, trade. back for a mediocre prospect.
This proposal gets a very strong no imo.
No thanks. If the Giants trade back
LW_Giants : 3/17/2024 11:21 am : link
they should just punt on QB completely (start Locke) and try again to get a top rated guy in 25.
Don’t like passing up Blue Chip talent……
Simms11 : 3/17/2024 11:25 am : link
that’s how the team remains mediocre. Need talent! Even if we only draft one starter. Get a guy that can make a difference. Do not trade down unless there’s still a highly rated Blue Chipper available. Stay at #6 or move up. We’re not at the point where moving down wouldn’t make a difference. Be aggressive when you need to and move up to get your guy. It’s not about extra picks right now, it’s about getting more talent. If we want to trade back into first to get a QB, from second round, then do it.
That would be a horribly disappointing

Draft.
Isn’t Sweat basically a nose tackle?
81_Great_Dane : 3/17/2024 11:30 am : link
In other words, doesn’t he play the same position as Dex?
Awful and I doubt Nix will last until 26

Still a lot of guys in denial
widmerseyebrow : 3/17/2024 11:44 am : link
We may not have a say in the matter unless we go full Mike Ditka for a guy like JJ McCarthy.
Thanks for the scenario ARock!

This only makes sense if we get future picks, essentially we are ignoring game changers to plug holes.

If we trade down to #11, then ok… we still have a shot at Brock bowers, Troy Fautano, JC Latham, Jared Verse, Terrian Arnold, or Q Mitchell. Bona fide starters at their position, and then with extra picks come up for Nix/pennix early/late first.

When I ran the mock I actually originally traded to 12...
Bowers was gone, who I would have taken btw
But you really don't get that much in trade value unless you trade back into the later part the 1st...which is what I did
Notice how many holes I.was able to fill
Love teh trade back idea

IMO the points from others of "Need a blue chipper" are way overblwon. Associating a number to a blue chipper is just made up. WIth that said-- it doesn't seem liek you got that many picks for a tradeback from 6.

And not getting a WR, or CB or safety earlier over a RB and TE is not what I would be too hppy with. I like trenches with 2nd rd pick ifthe guy fits. It just doesn't seem like you go enough on the trades. Maybe I'm wrong.
I'd fire you

as GM on the spot. Horrendous draft. Nix sucks and Sweat is gonna eat himself out of the league. Just a totally horrible draft.
