"Wink signed a three-year deal with a base salary of $2.3 million this fall, per the report.
That figure will increase to $2.5 million in 2025 and $2.7 million in 2026.
The highest paid coordinator in college football last season was Clemson offensive coordinator Garrett Riley at $2.05 million."

What? That was the new D-Line coach, not Moore.

Hey, maybe Michigan means business this year after all the controversy last year.

Shows how much I pay attention.....😂
At least I had the school right. So Wink has his assistant drinking already!
You need OUTSTANDING CBs & Safeties to make it work. That's why the Ravens released him, when the key players got hurt. Here, the Giants just didn't have the bodies
lawrence turned into a star.
thibodeaux and banks were both obviously much better picks than neal.
okereke was their best FA pickup by a mile.
he got a lot out of guys like moureau, pinnock, mccloud, etc.
bowen got better performance out of worse talent last year, so that will be a pretty interesting comparison.
With the transfer portal, players have more options and recruiting matters at every point in their college careers. Wink will lure top defensive players who think they can excel in his scheme. Prospects with their eye on the NFL can go to Michigan to be more "NFL-ready" thanks to being coached by Wink.
He's probably worth the money if he lures better players and coaches them up.
Last year the D was not all that bad. They kept the Giants in most games for at least a half imv early on. The O was just dreadful.
I think a big part of the friction was Wink was really down on the O. When they started to run the ball better his D was pretty darn good imv. He actually made a comment about other coordinators "innovative run games." I thought he was taking a subtle shot at Daboll.
His style is very exciting and the players love it but it is very demanding and requires a level of performance that some just are not capable of delivering the entire game.
They already hired one; the other went to New England.

Wink will be coaching Will Johnson who is probably the top cornerback prospect of the 2025 draft.
Those were my thoughts exactly. If he couldn't handle being the number two under Daboll, how's he going to handle doing it for a brand-new guy in college?
