but what its really doing is putting all the pressure for the QB situation publicly on the GM.

And maybe it should be if a GM is left to run the team, but for those who think Mara is pulling strings, it's all on Schoen now.

Owners meetings are going on this week.

How different the vibe around Jones is now.

In previous years Mara would often be emphatic that he believes Jones is a franchise QB.

This year, he basically says that Jones is the starter but will have to compete for it. That's not a big vote of confidence.

Circumstances in the draft may screw the Giants into entering the year with Jones, Lock, and DeVito as the QBs. Even then, however, Jones will have to come out firing or he won't last long.

Isn't Mara calling all of the shots as some of you have been saying???
