I think Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll both consider paranoia in terms of keeping things in-house regarding their future plans a badge of honor.
It's why I think Schoen is accurate, for the most part, when he said this about the draft today: "There's very few people that know what we're thinking or what direction we're going." #NYGiants

Yep, there it is. Clear as day.
Probably lol. This place would go ballistic.
Daniel's injury history, 2024 in question with his contract having an out, and it being a supposedly good QB class with the 6th overall pick.
They might like all four, but they don't have a chance at Caleb. What matters is how Joe and Brian rank Maye, Daniels, and McCarthy.
These guys do a good show if you haven't listened in.

I think Daniels is going to blow the doors off his pro day.
Good job Joe.
There's only another month of this craziness anyway, and it is entertaining.

Better chance of world peace tomorrow then Caleb falling to 3.
You mean Cousin Greg, err Tim?

and they had Daniels go overall #1. I think Drake Maye went #2.

Perhaps, but I'd be shocked if Caleb Williams isn't a pretty much lock for #1.

Tend to agree. Although I think this will wind up being the best redraft order 3 years from now: Daniels, Maye and then Williams.

I asked #NYGiants GM Joe Schoen about draft smokescreens, what is real and what is BS. Here's his answer: "Yeah, the good thing is, it's a relationship business. If you have a good relationship with the GMs and you've had conversation with them, you keep open lines of communication. Some of the noise that's out there, we don't even - I don't know where some of it comes from. It's just all - a lot of it's not true. I'm not one to play a lot of games and leak stuff, so I think that kind of happens on its own, for whatever reason. I think the most important part in this position is having good relationships with the other general managers and open lines of communication. That's what matters. It's not what's out there or the narrative or what the rumors are. If you are having conversation with other general managers, I think those relationships will come through, and there will be truth in those conversations."

Great insight from #NYGiants GM Joe Schoen into the weight of drafting a quarterback, which is part of the evaluation: "It's not, 'OK, if this guy fails at corner, we can move him to nickel or he's at least our third tackle or our third nickel rusher. The margin for error is - the fail factor is, you are either a backup that bounces around or you're out of the league."
Sounds like McCarthy is going to DC.

I think that was Pat's pick...? I know they usually do every other pick.
But count me in on that thinking. Daniels is the best overall dual threat QB in this draft.
LOL or C - Ownership makes every excuse under the Sun for you and the one season you show a glimmer of competence you get 82M.

They do alternate. But they both said they would pick Daniels first.

Interesting - thanks.
I wonder if JD is going to run the forty on his pro day. That could some spice to the process.

They are both a bit wary of Williams character and turnovers as to their rational.

If Bowers is drafted at 6 he is immediately one of the top paid TEs in the league. He needs to be a top player at his position immediately for his rookie contract to not be an overpay
Quote:
To be honest I haven’t really thought about Bowers but it would be tough to argue with that pick if the QBs are gone

I think Bowers could be on the table if 1) Waller retires, and 2) the Giants traded down to the 10-12 range. It'd make sense.
Daniel’s would fit the Chicago offense better.

This is what Raanan said about smokescreen. He said the GMs don't have to put out smokescreens because it happens organically. The media is talking to agents, maybe scouts, sometimes positional coaches, and people from other teams --all second and third hand sources, and also playing detective by things watching what pro-days people go to and quite frankly making shit up.
Every year there are surprises in the draft. WE don't know half the shit we think we do. And you have people out there screaming --the Mara's are blabbing. BS. People need to stop believing everything they read online.
