Too slow, hard pass!

And I wanted Rome… honestly have to stay put and see who falls to us. Williams - Daniels - Maye - jj - mhj - nabers and Rome we will have our choice at 2 of them.

If it were me, I'm not moving up for JJM. I'm either moving up for Drake Maye, or sitting pat and taking MHJ/Nabers/Or JJM at 6. Done deal.

I'm with ya on this too. I'm as desperate as anyone for a QB but a stud #1 WR, Burns and an improved offensive line is a solid offseason.

There are a ton of legit #1 type receives in this draft.
BUT, these 3 guys are easily potential pro-bowlers and that's what you want out of the #6 pick in the draft.
As much as we need a QB, I would be VERY tempted (if I'm JS) to let the draft come to me. This guy really is the second coming of OBJ. 6 ft and 4.35 holy crap!!!

Adonai Mitchell 6'2 205 9.97 ras 4.35 40
Xavier Leggette 6'1 221 9.66 ras 4.47 40
Troy Franklin 6'2 176 9.33 ras 4.41 40

Those are 3 guys I'd be targeting in rd2 or via tradeup if we go QB rd1.

I am with you.

QB in round 1
WR in round 2.

Take advantage of both the reality of being in position to get a QB in a talented QB draft and take advantage of the massive depth of the WR position.

Yeah if we teade up, which I think we will, I hope we keep our picks this year like EA did with the rd2 pick for Eli. He got Chris Snee with that pick. If we could hit on QB and trade up for a potential #1wr then we are in business and that future 1st won't be so high imo. Best case scenario imo is we get JJM at pick 4 by trading up twice with LAC and AZ (letting both teams know the deal), LAC get a future 3rd AZ gets a future 2nd and they both get their top choices. Otherwise a direct tradeup with AZ would likely be for our 2025 1st. Then again, if they really feel conviction in Maye then go ahead and trade up but it would be hard to keep our 2nd this year in that scenario imo.
4.35 Awesome!...Take The QB
BlueVinnie : 3/27/2024 2:08 pm : link
QB is the only position where need trumps BPA (within reason - I'm not taking a Penix or Nix over the WR).

There may/should be decent WR options available in round 2. In addition, good WRs are available in the 1st round of every draft. When you have a chance to take a QB you like, you do it. Good WRs are *much* easier to come by than potential franchise QBs.
Not bad

Huge Nabers fan but we won nada with OBJ

I would use #6 to get our QB and save #47 for WR. I would even trade up from 47 if we feel one of the WRs we like might not make it to 47.

Eyeing Franklin, Mitchell, Leggett and Coleman at 47 - would package my 2/3 to move up in round 2 or into round 1 if I see a run on WRs in the 20s or 30s.

Big deal. Can he play pro football? We've seen many WRs come out of college with great numbers and great stats (and some even drafted by the Giants) who, for one reason or another, cant really play the pro game. I'd be more interested in hearing how their interviews go, what their character is like, and how confident the decision makers are that they aren't drafting another Toney e.g.

He's very good at getting open, catching contested balls and getting yards after the catch. So, I'd say yes, he can play pro football.

My comp for Nabers is Issac Bruce. Similar size and Bruce was once described as an “arc of electricity” coming in and out of his breaks. Nabers has the same effortless single and double moves while running full speed into and through his breaks.

Are you suggesting interviews and character don't matter? That you already know - based on game highlights and YouTube videos e.g. - who would be a good pro and who wouldn't?
Could you imagine getting Daniels and Nabers?
Fishmanjim57 : 3/27/2024 4:45 pm : link
If Joe Schoen could make that happen, they should start making a statue for Schoen to be placed outside of the MetLife concourse!
That’s fast.

However, never really got the obsession with super fast 40 times. Plenty of great players, even HOFs, who never sniffed anything like a 4.3.

Press conference hadn't run the 40 since HS and just started working on it about 3 weeks ago if I heard correctly. He had been dealing with a toe issue. Wonder what his speed would have been if he was working with a team since the season ended.

Agree. Giants can’t gamble here. They should be done with flashy WR’s. Odunze seems more of a sure thing imo. I fell in love with Odunze’s competitiveness.

You can say that about every single player in every single draft...

By the way, this guy is a top rated prospect by some of the most respected people who do this for a living, but yea he can't "play in the NFL"...

You sound like a total buffoon.

Read my post, asswipe. I didn’t say he can’t play in the NFL. I’m interested in knowing the results of further study beyond just stats. The “guys who do this for a living” often get it wrong, and “top rated prospects” often fail in the pros, so I’m expecting the Giants decision makers to be better than those “guys” you reference.

By the way, note how my use of quotation marks refer to words you actually wrote, while yours, well, don’t. And I’m the one who sounds like a buffoon.
So do the “underwear olympics”
