I watched the Yankees yesterday. It seems very weird that they played the Astros and we are playing Milwaukee on opening day.

I agree that the names on the new uniforms by Fanatics are too small. I know that I wouldn't be able to read them from the stands at the game. The hockey ones suck too for the same reason.

He didn't start going back at McNeil until he was safely standing with his teammates. Says it all really.

also surprised bader couldnt beat that one out.

at least it was only 2 hours and 28 minutes though. The fact the Brewers only faced 2 batters over the limit (and one was picked off) helped limit the time we needed to suffer through that.

Thanks pj. The fans are great. We've always hung in there. I have no problem being patient this year. If I had a season ticket plan though, I wouldn't give them my hard earned cash. Let's see how they do this year and next off-season, and then I'd reconsider, but that's neither here nor there.

Positives:
-Marte looked good out there.
-Tonkin was a sneaky good addition; he can give this BP some length when needed this season.
-Mendoza spoke very well and directly with the press after the game.

Negatives:
-McNeil hitting cleanup is odd.
-Where's the offense at?

Had to DVR game and just completed it. How do you not PH there for Bader? The bench is going to be an issue but Narvaez at least still a better hitter than Bader. Let's hope Mendoza has a quicker hook for Bader next time in situations like that.

SP2 – Dominic Hamel, Mets

Hamel is arguably a five-pitch pitcher that shares a lot of similarities with McDermott. He’s an older pitcher with average velo, plus ride and a variety of pitches, who regularly posts strikeout percentages above 30%. These are the types of pitchers that often go unnoticed until they’re putting up solid seasons in the major leagues.

Hamel primarily works off a 93 mph fastball with great ride, throwing it over 57% of the time, but still missing bats with the pitch. Both his curveball and slider were great at managing contact with distinct shapes. The changeup didn’t get a ton of chase, but was his best pitch for swings and misses in the zone. He mixes in a cutter about 4-5% of the time.

A pitcher with a solid fastball and a potential five-pitch mix, Hamel looks poised to be a quality major league arm in short order.

Out of the 3 SP prospects in Cuse it'll be a fun storyline to see who makes it up first.

Ready quickly. He was in St. Lucie all of last weekend chatting it up with Vientos. Why not get in a game or two there? Why not get on the bus to Tampa and face the Yankees on Monday? This didnt have to be a 10-15 game delay. He was already hitting at driveline.

The Mets are likely a fringe wild card team. Yeah, it's a long season but every game and every run counts.

My guess is he had to maintain his back (just a guess). I don’t think he’s going to miss 10-15 games.
