We will use this as a discussion thread to keep the SELECTIONS thread uncluttered. These threads will be used for the duration of the draft.
While we are starting early, the clock won’t officially start until
Monday, April 8th at 9am. The draft will run from 9am to 6pm Monday through Friday until the start of the NFL Draft (Thursday, April 25th) or the completion of the 6th round. Please remember to use the DISCUSSION thread so we can keep this thread uncluttered.
Once a team is on the clock, they will have two hours to make a selection. If a team goes on the clock after 4pm, their two-hour window will roll over to the next day. For example, if you go on the clock at 4:30pm, you will have until 9:30 am to make a selection. Picks may be made between 6pm and 9am if GMs are online and following the draft thread. The time limit only applies during the 9am to 6pm timeframe. If the two-hour time limit expires, I will make a pick using any list that the GM for the team has sent me in advance (send lists to the email address in my profile) or in the absence of a list, I will use the GBN Big Board with a little discretion so as not make an obvious dumb pick (e.g. Kansas City won’t be taking a QB in the 1st round this year).
In consideration of your fellow participants, and so we can maintain strong momentum throughout the draft process, please continue to actively monitor the thread over the next two weeks. As always, I will provide "friendly reminder" emails as your upcoming picks approach.
If a GM misses a pick AND fails make some form of contact with me (either via email, posting on the draft DISCUSSION thread, or providing me with a prospect list) prior to their next pick, they will have just 15 minutes to make their next selection. With two consecutive missed picks, their spot will be forfeited and reassigned to one of the BBIers who have expressed an interest to fill the vacancy.
If you expect to miss a pick, please send me your draft board and I will make the selection on your behalf.
Per usual, we will also hold an undrafted free agency process that will start immediately after the final pick of RD6. Anyone who wants to participate can select up to 5 UDFAs. Selections are made on a first come, first serve basis. I am not making any changes to this process, so please don’t ask.
Please utilize the
BBI Mock Draft Spreadsheet. The spreadsheet contains the draft order (RD1-6) by team and GM with a fairly comprehensive list based on the GBN Big Board (as well as several other prospects that did not make the GBN Big Board). I will try to keep the spreadsheet and thread updated as often as possible… Good luck!
Perfect place to do them! lol. You look busy and engaged!
It was quite a show!!

Hahaha now that’s a scene. I haven’t been involved long enough to have a cool story yet. One of these days though.
They have 7 in the top 104 this yr

Exactly. I can see Zona trading and trading assets for players or picks next year. This draft to them is more about quality than it is quantity.
Physically imposing, but so was Mekhi Bechton, Ereck Flowers, etc. Extremely inexperienced. I am not sure where you can play him if he flops at OT.
Excluding myself as well as the early picks I would say
Best - Philly with Quinyon Mitchell. I think he could be the top CB in this draft and it would not surprise me if he goes 10 picks higher on draft day.
Worst - Las Vegas with Bo Nix. I get you don’t want to be standing at the altar with QB7, but this was way too early and not really a scheme fit. If you look at what made Nix successful at Oregon it was keeping everything within 10 yards and getting it to guys in space. If you told me he was going to a team like Miami with Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill I could see it. But with Vegas that limits what Davante Adams can do.
Off to a good start
Assuming his foot checks out, the only significant knock on Newton is sub-optimal length. He’ll never be Chris Jones (another 37th pick); he’s built more like Ed Oliver, but he should be a better pro. In Newton and Malik Nabers, the Chargers start the draft with solid alignment of value and need - possibly the top prospects at both positions.
IRL, the Chargers will be listening to trade offers at #5, and might wind up using this pick on a receiver. For the purposes of a no-trades mock, they are happy to land Nabers at #5 and watch the run of second-tier WRs between picks 32 and 35.

Come on, dude. Help us move forward.
Come on, dude. Help us move forward.
He was on like 5 minutes ago so perhaps pulling up the spreadsheet to see who remains. At least that is my hope.
Seeing how this draft fell I like the Brian Burns trade more. You are not getting anywhere close to a pass rusher of that caliber at 39 and there really isn't someone who stands out to me here that I can say is ranked on a higher tier than what will be around at 47.

Probably still too embarrassed by the Chicago Bears Tennessee Titans snafu to make another pick.

LOL!! That's must be it. Shameful faux pas. Ha!
"Da heights of sheeeuh mongodom I tell yaz. Back aftuh diss."
"Hey Sexy Rexy, I haven't my pennix in yeahuhs. When's da last time you sawr yoah's?"
That is unfortunate.
In fairness, the first was only an hour and 58 minutes.
Why not send Matt your two-player board? You can even send him the formatted text of your post, if you want particular wording and a certain image. That's what I did last night for the 37th pick, so Matt was able to post the Newton selection while I was sleeping.
Not singling you out, FMiC. I think everyone should give Matt a board when they're on deck or close to it, which he can use if we don't make a pick in 10-15 minutes.
I gave Matt G my email and number so I promise to get right on it in the future
Adding Kingsley Suamataia is a great add for the O Line - he looks like he has more upside than most players you'd get in round two. Had to be addressed so took the top guy on my board
McConkey was a little more unexpected...we need corner and even an edge, and they were my first thought...but wasn't expecting him still here. McLaurin is a stud but Dotson and Brown aren't exactly scaring anyone, and Samuel has gone, so we could use an upgrade here as well. Also fits with providing Daniels the tools to win
I considered WR before the trade today. Not needed now. Atleast not this early
There are 4 guys at the top of my board if I am the Giants
