He has one start in March with less than 3 goals and 3 starts with less than 4 goals - included in that circus stretch is his 6-0 loss to the Rangers two weeks ago. He has two wins the whole month.
I will gladly take the Rangers in this game like I did the last NYR game vs ARI with the goal line of -1.5
like to blame Trouba for everything and the first goal, WTF, on him.
but when you blame the 2nd goal on him or say "witty" things like hold my beer you look foolish.
there are 2 or 3 players you can blame for the 2nd goal before Trouba. The C primarily or whoever that is on the left (Trocheck or Panarin can't tell who that is? who is out at the past the top of the face off circle doing absolutely nothing - probably Panarin) while three Pens forwards are down low and Trouba is in front covering two.
Plus that's a pretty sweet tip from one of the best whoever played the game.
Sometimes you tip your hat to the other team
I know pj will take issue with this, and that’s fine
But they didn’t miss Trouba much. The hits are nice but he is good for a couple of horrific misplays per game.
I don't take issue with it, but I also don't think NYR win the Pens or probably the Canes series two years ago when they went to the ECF without Trouba. So you take the good with the bad and in the end it's a net positive and really irreplaceable on this team IMO.
If nothing else, they need to stop pairing him with Miller
had a nice view of what was going on out there in the 1st and had the good sense of not matching the Trouba - Miller pairing with the Yinzers top line a little more than halfway through the 1st.
RE: that was such a bullshit goalie interference call
It was such a bullshit call. We been f'd with goalie interference since I started my fandom in the early 90s. These last two games we get these goals removed but the Kings goal in the 14 finals was ok.
my bet it was with the assumption Jarry was playing. I didn't realize he was scratched until the game started.
If I had known.....my biggest hope now is the EBUG gets called in to the game. I saw him on the broadcast, he doesn't look like he's up to the task.
I bet $50 on the money line. The least you could do is get me a box :p
Jk
I'm trying. It seems I have to fill out online requests saying which customers I will be entertaining. I don't know if I'll be able to pull this off. still working on it. I have colleagues who do it.

Yeah that's Panarin top of the circle. Trocheck had the block and skated towards the blue line.
Self-inflicted wounds cost them, as well as an absolutely atrocious goalie interference call. That was completely absurd for that goal not to count, what a joke. Not only was Kreider clearly pushed into Nedelkjovic, but there was barely even any contact and definitely not enough contact to prevent the goalie from making a save. That said, it was predictable that Nedelkjovic would have a great game under the circumstances, that's just what happens to the Rangers. Would've been nice to stretch the lead over Carolina to 5 or even 4, but these games happen. Go beat the piss out of the Devils tomorrow night.
they were due for a letdoane, just wish it wasn't at home against
I think they miss Rempe. All the fight hype has taken way from the fact that he is a good, physical 4th line player who pressures and beats up the opposing D. Brodzinski is a nice player but has no impact. I also think that Cuylle seems a little tentative since he was scratched. He's another really good, responsible 2 way player who is physical. The guys need to play. The first time in my life that the Rangers have skilled, big players who know how to be physical without being stupid and now they don't want to play them? WTF?
RE: I know pj will take issue with this, and that’s fine

They didn't miss him one bit. The defense played the best they had all season with him not in the lineup. Now he comes back and Miller looks like a shell of the guy that was paired with Schneider. Don't care if Trouba is the captain, he's not a good player. Can't skate, can't exit the zone. Laviolette has a decision to make, because the defensive group looked infinitely better without him.
But having said that pair him with Jones who is infinitely better at moving the puck out of the defensive zone.
Miller & Schneider we’re dynamic paired together.
Trouba would also add physicality to the Jones pairing.
I really can’t see Gus when ready replacing Jones now.

Trouba with Jones has been successful in the past. The way Miller and Schneider were playing together, their best alignment is to go with Lindgren/Fox, Miller/Schneider, Jones/Trouba. I was just thinking, what do you guys think about the possibility of the Rangers rolling 11/7 in the playoffs? It doesn't seem like Laviolette really trusts Rempe yet to log 4th line minutes, and as much as I like Jonny, I'm not sure I see him as an every night player in the playoffs. Rangers are deep at the blue line, they have 8 legitimate NHL defensemen, whereas their forward group is a little thinner on the back end.
big kid, knocked out of frozen four round of 16 with Omaha. Stay at home D.

Lucky they’re not down 2.

Either he’s still dinged up, in which case you scratch him for Ruhwedal until he’s 100% or you cut his ice time because he’s been ass.
Miller-Schneider
Jones-Trouba
Those should be your pairings

As bad as Trouba has been since his return his game is not going to get any better minimizing his ice time.
The best we can hope for is his game is sharper and his timing comes back by or before the playoffs.
Just dreadful!
Sloppy and slop it on the slop pile
