NY 2024 Defensive Formations

your plan would be to place Lawrence at 3-Tech/3-4 DE? Not really sure how that would fly and how that would fit with Bowen.

On the other hand there are a number of 3-Tech type defensiv e tackles on Day 2 that are worth consideration.

in a two down, overweight issue player. I would rather have one of these penetrating type players at DT like Newton, Murphy, Orhorhoro, Jenkins, Maason Smith, etc.

We aren't really a 3-4 defense. We are closer to a 4-2-5

Dex is already a monster but Bowen has had guys like Jeffery Simmons and Teair Tart play big roles on the the DL who are closer to 300lbs so I think they need to find someone for that type of role. Byron Murphy, the other Texas DT, would be ideal or maybe Jer'Zhan Newton but there is no way they can get them unless they trade down. Braden Fiske at #47 would be nice.

Burns DE Dex DE Thibs

For the Nickel packages, pull McFadden and keep 3 DLs.

Occasionally, try some kind of NASCAR / Hybrid package with Thibs, Burns and Ojulari all on the field at the same time (probably does put us in a dreaded two DL formation though).

looks like a 4-man front out of 3-4 personnel: a bigger edge in the 5-Tech mold (Denico Autry), NT (Teair Tart), 3-Tech (Jeffery Simmons), and a rushbacker in the other DE spot (Harold Landry), with two inside linebackers and five defensive backs (he also likes to run quite a few dime personnel packages). The problem is that the Giants don't have players who can play 3-Tech or 5-Tech on all downs; most of the current defensive linemen on the roster are nose tackle types who don't have the agility to shoot gaps inside or outmaneuver tackles outside unless we put Dex out of position. With how Bowen ran his defense, I would imagine a 3-Tech would be higher on the priority list.
