Tracking the Giants TOP 30 Visits

Y28 : 4/2/2024 8:22 am
Well this past weekend concluded all of the college football Pro Days.

So what's left prior to the draft?

For the Giants, we have the local Pro Day this Thursday morning. We are slowly hearing the names of players that grew up in the area, or attended a local college. So far the most notable name is Max Melton, the CB from Rutgers.

Each NFL team is allowed 30 official player visits at their headquarters (TOP 30 visits).

The Giants never announce who will get a TOP 30 visit, but agents and college PR departments often provide information to promote their players. Last year, the posters on BBI were able to determine and have consensus on at least 28, with some varied posts on who made up the final 2 slots.

It is early in the process, but so far I believe that we know twelve of the Giants TOP 30 visits. Here is what we have seen so far:

1. Marvin Harrison Jr., WR Ohio St
2. Malik Nabers, WR LSU
3. Rome Odunze, WR Washington
4. Drake Maye, QB North Carolina
5. J.J. McCarthy, QB Michigan
6. Michael Penix, Jr., QB Washington
7. Tyrice Knight, LB UTEP
8. Adisa Isaac, Edge Penn State
9. Dallas Turner, Edge Alabama
10. Khristian Boyd, DT Northern Iowa
11. Joe Alt, OT Notre Dame
12. Chau Smith-Wade, CB Washington St

If other posters have more names, please add them today and over the coming few weeks.

Nice hit rate. Thanks for info.
Hate to be nitpicky

These are simply called "30 Visits"

The "top" was inserted by someone in the media and the public runs with it. These are not the top 30 guys - but more so the 30 guys they want more answers to.

the IOL from Michigan was worked out by Bricillo during the Pro Day. Not a 30 visit.

Thanks for that list and information.

Still showing twelve.
Looks like due diligence

on a range of first round talent that takes into consideration trade up/down possibilities. Isaac day two potential. Others mostly defensive players that are day three or priority for UDFA candidates.
this here is a great list!

Just one CB, one DT, one LB

that is very surprising but still a lot to go. All day 3 type players. Clearly hit the QBs and WRs out of the gate so I expect there is a method to all of this. No RB or S yet.
Interesting four of our draft picks

both years they picked from guys they knew.

beyond neal and thibs i believe flott belton and davidson confirmed after the draft they had gotten visits with nyg that werent reported ahead of time. bellinger or robinson may have been one of those and im misremebering, but both years they have visited like half of the guys they ended up selecting (and picking early from the position groups they most visited with).

#NYGiants knocking out "30" visits with Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers, Rome Odunze, J.J. McCarthy and Drake Maye last month seemingly put their evaluation a lot further along on those prospects, all of whom are potentially in play at No. 6.

Cleared the deck for Pro Days, private workouts, etc.

Not sure there's an advantage to be had, but sure seems strategic.
