Yeah I know he wasn't charged but I'm not investing millions of dollars and 1st rounder when 2 or 3 guys might be just as good. This was only a year ago. With the history of Plaxico and the airsoft guy, there is zero chance I see Mara giving the green light on this guy.

No more of a red flag than being warned about speeding.
He handed the gun over, and that was that.
Anything else is projection.
RE: Signing with Mississippi State and ended up at LSU
Do you follow college football? This happens quite often.
For example, two five-star guys flipped recently. Dominick McKinley just flipped from A&M to LSU. And Dominick Railoa flipped from Ohio State to Nebraska.

I'm not saying I'd rule him out because of it, but there have been other signs that lead me to believe he's heading to diva land.
But, realistically, did he have any choice but to hand the gun over?
And, sorry, carrying a concealed weapon illegally in a crowd that's drinking heavily and partying (him too) is a little more dangerous than doing 70 in a 55.
It doesn't matter what we think about Nabers' gun.
It matters what Mara thinks though. I firmly believe he is knocked down a few notches for it. I don't care personally it's a non issue to me. I don't think that's how Mara would see it, and you can argue ad nauseum about the degree of influence Mara has on the team. When it comes to character and stuff like this, he does have a say.

19 YO. Madri Gras? No permit for the gun? Any ammo present? Might get away with that in Louisiana - LSU's leading pass receiver at the time.
Gee, he gave up the gun and everything is cool. WTF?
That's why the visit with Giants was so important.
And, it seem difficult to get a top-tier WR who is devoid of diva-like qualities. I'm not saying they don't exist, just saying it's the position that seems most likely to have that personality type.
It's one of the reasons I was so disappointed the giants did not
I ultimately decided that his talent was too good to pass on, but I was convinced that he was a diva. As it turns out, I somewhat overestimated both his talent and his diva qualities (self-promotion)

Happens quite often. Players decommit and/or transfer all the time.

On the one hand - there is Baker and Toney
On the other is Parsons
Every pick has risks
Passing on a pro bowl talent....?

And what are these other things?

Again, probably wasn't the first or last time he will carry a gun somewhere.

Top tier WR
High character guy

My point is - I've given up playing arm-chair psychologist.
Weighing in on a players ability is based on much more information than his character.
