He was 82. Didn't realize he was that old. I'm a huge SCTV fan and he was the funniest guy in a cast of very funny people. I also always enjoyed his sleazy prosecutor in Used Cars, a very underrated movie. Link - ( New Window )
"It's one of the scariest songs I've ever heard. Even the title scares me! It's called...The Weapon! But make sure you put on your 3D glasses, otherwise you'll only be seeing this in one-half D!"
I guess the non-monopoly Google blocks us from sharing content?
OK, I know, he hailed from Pittsburgh, but Joe as Norman Gorman conducting "Sunrise Semester"lessons is damn funny!
There were a number of SCTV hosts who conducted those segments. I found two with Joe on YouTube.
One is "SCTV - Conversational New Yorkese with Norman Gorman" and the other is "SCTV - Societal Behaviour with Norman Gorman" (The second one is not an official SCTV post; the first one is.)
And yeah, they spelled "Behaviour" the Canadian way.
Haven't caught SCTV mush but on your reco about a year ago we did watch 'Used Cars', raunchy funny. He was good. RIP

Recently I watched re-runs on Youtube. Holds up.
RIP Mr. Flaherty.
