But the Giants need to invest in a QB. So what do you do that is the right call? Force it with McCarthy, trade down and get Penix or just wait til' next year?

If you don't actually believe in a QB that's available, then don't pick them. Taking a QB because you need one is how to pick guy that will likely fail.
If they don't have a chance to get their guy at QB, then you pick the best available player and as fans, don't expect a whole lot to change in the immediate future.
Some don't want to hear this, but plugging in a projected #1 WR isn't going to fix a whole lot.
It proves how negligent the Giants have been. Good franchises draft QBs when they already have them. 2019. It's been since 2019 the Giants have drafted a QB. Awful.
I like when they discussed how it is easier for the Vikes to trade up, giving up a bunch of picks, for a QB than the Giants. The Giants can either get the 4th QB at six or a Blue Chip WR. It's tough to give up that blue chip WR for the 4th QB. Vikes aren't in that position.

It’s tough to do so, but you always have to keep in mind that 4th picked doesn’t mean 4th on NYG’s board.

Yes, sadly I would just simply pick my top WR at #6 vs McCarthy or anybody else. Maybe work the phones a bit of Penix or Nix fall into Day 2 and see if I could pick one up with a relative cheap move. If not, then just suit up for the season and start over next year in finding a guy.
Yes but whether he can date your daughter doesn’t mean jack shit when he does not have the arm talent to make many of the throws required to be an above average NFL QB.
^ and don’t confuse “arm talent” with having a good fastball (which McCarthy does have)
The 'He's the sort of dude you'd want your daughter to bring home' talk that also applies to DJ...the more clips I watch of McCarthy, the more I come away thinking he is light years better than Jones.
I won't lie: McCarthy is a bit of a head scratcher to me in terms of his on field performance. But I've been wrong before and if Schoen is sold, then we have to roll with it. All of these guys represent more upside than we've had in a long time.

JMac is definitely more talented than Jones.
I spoke to a friend of mine recently who coaches in D1 college and asked him about McCarthy. He said that he's a very good college player who found the right coach and system to fit and protect his game. And that he will likely need a very good team around him in the NFL to get the best out of him. He called him a more talented Brock Purdy.
Sy has been high on Bo Nix right along. Can't believe Giants haven't
brought him in for a visit unless they are trying to throw other teams off. I d take a WR in round one then grab Nix later and be happy especially if the top 4 are gone.

I would do the same. Nix is better than Jones by a wide margin. Okay, he's not Maye, but he's better and I don't expect the Giants to win another SB for a long time. But at least they can be competitive for the next few years.

Quickest way to getting fired is this path. MetLife will be empty by Halloween.
Well I don't want to get fired Scooter, especially since I don't
whether McCarthy is perfect for your daughter? I wouldn't let Aaron Rodgers near any females in my family but the dude could play. The only thing that matters is his performance on the field. And to me, JJM is a major reach at six.
RE: Nice video, they seem to be leaning to not trading up
How? Are Schmelk and Wilson connected to the Giants? Do the have inside info? If not, they’re pulling stuff out of their asses like the rest of us.
Geez relax man. They were just providing their football opinions on what they would do.
Of course they are, that was my whole point. It was opinion, they weren’t basing it on any inside info, which the post I replied to seemed to imply.
I don't think the post implied it at all. If you listened to the video you would have gotten the tone/tenor and not freaked out.
The poster implied that the Giants were leaning to taking a WR based on what the 2 talking heads said. My point was that they had no inside info, so no one should make any conclusions based on their opinions. I have zero issue with what Schmeelk and Ryan said.
No, you just missed it. The 'they' in the post wasn't the Giants,
brought him in for a visit unless they are trying to throw other teams off. I d take a WR in round one then grab Nix later and be happy especially if the top 4 are gone.
The chances of Nix or Penix making it out of rd1 are very low imp. I think 6 QBs go in the top 16 picks.

"The guy you want your daughter to bring home."
Hard to imagine the Giants passing on that.

I think they would. My preference would be to take Penix at 6, but if they like McCarthy enough to move up for him, go for it.
Saw this on YouTube today. Didn’t want to put it in its own thread in case it was already and i missed it

I didn't see Captain America throw the ball last season in Ann Arbor.
But I hear he has a winning resume

He does scream a Giants QB.

I cringe whenever I hear or read stuff like this about players as part of an analysis.

Me too. Let's hope that sometimes people do the right thing for the wrong reasons.

Oddly enough McCarthy reminds me of Corral a bit
Who?
Based on what?
The McCarthy intangibles are beyond tedious at this point. Yet, it's those things the romantics of the NYG fan base eat up. And it's catnip for Mara.
If true, that was a very weird story about Sean Payton's question to Bo Nix about shoe size. What the hell was the angle?

Catnip remark is classic

What's your recommended path if Caleb, Drake and Jayden are all off the board and #4 Arizona is on the clock?

Trade and take JJM.

Ok. At least that is a slower path to getting fired.

Time to get the best QB you can
