My brother wrote this song in 1975. This version is from 1998. You may notice some of the references - television sign-off sermons, etc. seem obsolete.
They are.
The song is meant, was always meants as more than an off-hand sexual joke.
It's actually an ambitious literary piece based on Dante's Inferno (anybody see the recent PBS bio?) and Vonnegut's Breakfast of Champions. I've never before heard a first person narrator show up in a 3rd person narrative song. Hss anyone?
As I said it's an ambitious piece, 8-plus minutes long. (My brother) JP is backed by a mostly acoustic band on this version thst features, violin, mmandolin and brushy drums. The bass player played a 5-string fretless electric.
JP is a soon to be 75-year old songwriter. I've posted stuff of his here before, but not often. He relessed his first album on Columbia/Windfall way back in 1973 an has an extensive if obscure on line catalog.
Take a listen if you're interested and thanks in advance.
