Every year for the past 3 years, on Spring Break I choose a certain item to travel the North Country of NYS to find what I deem to be the best place to get said item. Year 1 was deli sandwiches, last year was chicken wings, and this year is breakfast sandwiches. I've gone to places in Saratoga, Glens Falls, Lake Placid, and a few small towns in between.
What's your all time favorite breakfast sandwich? Is there a specific order or place that just hits different when you get it?
For me it's the Bull Moose at a small deli/sporting goods store in Chestertown, NY. 2 eggs, 2 meats for me it's ham and sausage, 2 slices of cheese, and I'll switch up the bread from English Muffin to Hard roll.
Crossroads is the spot. I live just up the interstate from there. It's perfect timing to call in the order, get in the car and it's fresh off the griddle as I walk in.
That sounds like a fantastic combination
None of that overplayed pork roll vs. Taylor ham nomenclature debate crap here please.
2 eggs in a burrito
Cheddar Cheese Sauce
Brisket
Hash (it was made from the leftovers the day before, the hash would be different often, sometimes it would have duck/potato's /Jalepenos, etc
Spicy Barbecue ketchup
This was a meat sandwich that weighed about a pound, out of this world

My food truck does 1 pound brisket breakfast burritos at select events. Ours is definitely different than what you describe but it is a huge hit.

You’re talking about Crossroads, right? I have family on Loon Lake. We’ve been going up there since I’m a kid. Love that place. Great beer selection and ice cream in the summer.

That’s great. Next time I’m up there (probably this summer), I’ll get the Bull Moose for breakfast when I go in there for bait and beer and report back lol

You have a food truck? So you're a ringer here? :)
Egg whites, turkey, spinach, roasted mushrooms, mozzarella on a sun-dried tomato tortilla.
Honorable mention to the sausage, egg, hash browns and cheese sandwiches from the truck that used to stop at my old job in Hicksville.

Hard roll comes or when baking the oven uses steam at intervals to give it a harder crust and soft insides. Get what you're saying lol. It's a bit of an oxymoron.
Pretty much the same. Excepted a fresh baked Kaiser roll from my NJ hometown bakery. Same thing. A bit hard on the outside but the bread was amazing. I love Florida and the all the international foods Ive gotten to eat here but the NJ bread is unmatched still except for a very very few places
Also, a burrito isn’t a sandwich, it’s a fat taco.

I’d order this - for lunch.
Cheese, sausage, fried egg, hash brown patty, hot sauce on a Portuguese roll. It's awesome.
The Yahoo. - ( New Window )
it had scrambled egg, cheese, potatoes, onions, and bacon (optional) and they had the best home made salsa I would add. The potatoes really made it work.
I could easily crush 4 or 5 of those (I didn't, I usually stopped at 1, but so good).
Otherwise, nothing fancy, BEC is probably my go-to.
Breakfast burrito is excellent too.
Most other places in the country are food deserts when it comes to grabbing lunch or breakfast on the road. It's either a national sit down chain, or some bespoke fancy bullshit.
That being said, my son did introduce me to the joy of frying up some hard salami. (takes all the fat out of it) and slapping that on a roll with some eggs and cheese.
There is a deli in Port Jeff Station named Wunderbar, is this where you go?
Best BEC around! Monster hungry man hero but its too much for me these days

cheese, runny eggs on a roll, with my parents on a Monday morning in Port Jeff Station. (For some reason, my dad only gets them on Mondays.)

If I'm the one making it, I love a scrambled egg, Canadian bacon, avocado and swiss or melted mozzarella on a whole eat wrap with hot sauce.

Lol, had did you know?! Wunderbar is a great spot for breakfast sandwiches. I don't live there anymore so only get the opportunity once in a while.
I live right down the road. Old school German deli,
The only complaint I ever hear is there's to much meat on the sandwich. I always thought that too much meat was a bogus complaint but as I'm getting older I understand
