Gallen is a good pitcher, so this will not be easy. We're going with the alternating R-L lineup, with Trevino:
1. Gleyber 2b
2. Soto RF
3. Judge CF
4. Rizzo 1B
5. Stanton DH
6. Verdugo LF
7. Volpe SS
8. Cabrera 3B
9. Trevino C
Would love to see a good Nestor game.
It was a fun run, but this has not been going well.
Well said. As Cashman would say, it's part of his game.
At this point, I just hope Spencer Jones kicks ass in the minors and forces the front office to move on after the season.
Trevino with an AWFUL at bat.

that Stanton's season does not turn into a Hicks redux in which everyone hates and boos him. Definitely a non-zero chance.

Non-competitive at-bat. Hooray.
No excuse for it.
On the bright side, Hader just blew a save lol.
It’s almost as if they are trying to force MLB to implement an electronic strike zone…
Unreal. He is absolutely terrible. A complete waste of $32M. One of Cashman's horrendous decisions. I hate to sound so negative. As a fan, it's infuriating to watch.
I agree with your assessment. He is grinding and not letting tbe score get out of reach.

92 straight down the middle. And then swung at a breaking ball a foot off the plate.

I would bet this is his last season as a Yankee. They'll pay his contract just to move him off the roster.
Actually, I think there is something wrong with his pre-game routine. If you go back and look at the Astros game and this game- he started badly- and then tightened things up and gave them the innings to save the pen and keep the team close enough to come back.
I believe that the Yanks need to sit him down and analyze why he is not ready when the game starts- but can recover.
yeah ... Cousins' cousin or whatever.
I'll settle for 161-1.
Another bad first inning and then a pretty good start. Bit soon to be writing his obituary.

Have a feeling Cortes isn't the answer.

For sure. Not saying he's "dead" by any means, but he's got to be alittle better.
No reason to overreact, it was inevitable they’d have a stinker during this long trip to start the season. One bright side, it wasn’t close so they gave the high leverage bullpen guys a night off
But I agree Cortes has to be better. And at least a couple of Judge, Rizzo, Stanton and Torres should feel free to start hitting sometime soon
Maybe thats why Rice was sent back to AA. To get more playing time at 1B. Doesnt look like he will stick at catcher
Gallen is a really good pitcher, a CY Young candidate this year. Reminds me alot of Greg Maddux. Doesnt blow you away but really moves the ball in and out, and has pinpoint control
