Would be easy for him to just sit around since NYG is paying him through 2024. Instead, he moves the family to Mississippi and stays in the game. I think college HC could be in the cards if he can rehabilitate his career.
What would that have paid vs NFL HC money ($25m was reported). I know money isnt everything but hard to imagine anyone turning down that offer, I know I wouldn’t. Also got to stay in the northeast.
a guy who knows a lot about redemption stories (Kiffin's work with Saban is something that could be applicable here).
Judge is still a young guy and while it looks he's not cut out for an NFL gig beyond ST coordinator, I think I could see him being a solid d-coordinator or even CEO type of head coach at a college program at some point.
I recall the threat of MState hiring Judge caused Mara to accelerate the hiring of Judge.
Think back to that period and the two hot candidates. Rhule fleeced Tepper and we took a chance on a person who had never been a head coach at anything other than - maybe - his daughter's soccer team.
Knowing what we know now, I would say college is the right level for Judge and his style.

UConn, I get the coin aspect. But-that aside, & that's a big thing to put aside-I suspect he wishes he took that judge.

He got hired based off an impressive interview and at the time the seemed like a promising candidate and the team took a chance that didn’t work out. He was all talk and posturing but coached not to lose instead of coaching to win.
Kiffin is an outstanding offensive mind so he can get some insights on that offense and the newer recruiting game.
The Florida and Arkansas HC's will be starting the season on the hot seat and more could potentially join the list. Kiffin seems pretty happy at Ole Miss. He has potentially a top team this year but maybe he decides to move on as well.

That first interview was really good though!
Right. And Judge Fever infected BBI quickly, too.
Once it got out into the ether, he was the target, BBI went into hyperdrive to prop the guy up as John Harbaugh, 2.0.

he probably had the worst GM and surely one of the worst rosters in the NFL for his time here. He didn't have a legit NFL starting QB either. We later found out that Judge and Gettleman clashed on numerous issues and I wonder if the 30-something year old coach or the veteran GM ended up "winning" these arguments.
Look at Bill Belichick to see how a bad QB and bad roster makes it impossible for any coach to put a good season together.
My point is certainly not to say Judge was a good coach (his second year was a clown show), but that he was put in a nearly impossible situation to begin with, with a completely broken organization.
RE: I loved the early Judge days, guilty as charged
No Giants' GM has ever held another NFL GM job after leaving NYG.
I'm sure Schoen is hoping to be the first in that category.

Bet he wish he took that MS Bulldogs job in 2020.

yep. and he gets himself on the radar in missippi/sec for recruiting if/when jeff lebby doesn't work out at MSU.
As long as he doesn't call plays.

To be fair, there have been four Giants' GMs before Scheon. Two retired, and one moved up to the league office.

No ill will towards him for it not working out, hope he has a resurgence in college.

Judge was the Tony Robbins of selling the sport.
I was just glad we didn't take the bait on Rhule. The other flavor of the month. Dodged a big bullet there, too.
But after that insanely bizarre post game presser after the Chicago ‘21 game…I would have driven him out of town.
The scary thing is that Mara apparently wanted to keep him, but Steve had to step in.
