6. Chicago Bears (from NYG)*: Malik Nabers, WR, LSU Projected trade: Chicago trades No. 9, No. 75 and a 2025 mid-round pick to the New York Giants for No. 6 It’s certainly possible Chicago can wait at No. 9 and still get one of these receivers for Williams. But it’s also possible the Bears will feel like they have to move up. Nabers, Harrison or Rome Odunze might be way too tempting to pass on in this situation. 9. New York Giants (from CHI)*: Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia If the Giants want to be aggressive and add a young QB this year, that’s fine. However, the new guy would have the same problem Daniel Jones has: There’s not enough help. New York needs to build out the roster, and Bowers would be a great place to start. |
Drafting a TE makes no sense that high. Another short to mid range target to clog up the middle of the field.
At least Manny would be pleased with Bowers.
If so? LOL
Funny how that's never brought up about Jordan Love...
That is an awful trade for the Giants.
Bowers will never be their pick - never.
If that was me, I'd take Nix or Penix at 9. And yes #75 is nowhere near enough, They'd need to cough up 2025 #1...
If I were the Bears I'd like it but I don't think its realistic for the Giants.

So you'd take Penix or Nix at 9 but not at 6?
Would need at least a 2025 2nd and a 2024 4th to really think about it.
And the Bears would be sending more than that.
Whether the deal makes any sense for the Giants seems to have been an afterthought. If they don’t want Nabers or Odunze, the Falcons probably will, with a better offer.

Not if I could make a trade for extra pick(s). Not sure I would straight up, no, at this point in time. I am not an absolute 100% QB or bust fan. McCarthy, yes. Maye, probably yes.
Would I cry if they did take Penix or Nix at #6, no. Perhaps my darkside would do it.
I absolutely have no clue as to how Schoen and Daboll feel about those two - I suspect Nix might be 2nd round only.
Am I hemming and hawing? You bet your ass I am.
To move down three spots? Be realistic.
Cause that is the only reason DJ hasn't been successful so far...

You're giving up the opportunity at a QB or top WR, so yes I would want a 2025 1st or 2nd.

Agree. You want to move up...gonna cost more than a 3rd.
No thank you.
I'd LOVE to scoop up Bowers at Round 1 (#9).
In case you were hiding under a rock and missed how bad our O-line sucked. that #75 pick (3rd round pick from the Bears would help a lot. Here's how my revised draft would look ...
Round 1 (#9) - Brock Bowers, tight end, Georgia
Round 2 (#47) - Bo Nix, QB, Oregon
Round 3A (#70) - Tykee Smith, Safety, Georgia
Round 3B (#75) - Sedrick Van Pran, Center , Georgia

Note: JMS is our center, but this guy can compete at a HIGH level for one of the guard positions.
Round 4 (#107) Braelon Allen, RB
Round 5 (#166)Curtis Jacobs, LB
Round 6 (#183) Jaxon, WR
I don't mind bowers but missing out on a top wr for a 3rd and 5th is bs
Would he have to?
At 32, with a chronic hamstring issue, years of injuries, and an expressed uncertainty about retirement, Waller isn't exactly a name anyone should be writing in pen on the Giants' depth chart.
Bowers would be a bad pick on its own merit (largely due to his position and the relative value of the rookie contract in the top-10), but it would have very little to do with some sort of redundancy with Waller.

if this happened. If four QB’s go 1-4 draft the best receiver at 6 and move on. If you can trade back in for Penix do it.

Have you seen Brock Bowers? Mind you, I agree... Take one of the top WR... But Bowers is not just ANY TE... He will be drafted in that 9-11 spot FOR SURE. He's a total game changer!
I've watched enough Georgia games to know that he doesn't actually change the game.
He's a good player, but not one that's worthy of hyperbole.

In case you missed how bad our OL sucks, here's a make-believe draft that barely addresses OL at all, and does so with a position change for a prospect that many consider center-only.
Why is it so difficult to have the premise and the conclusion align?
1. Van Pran is very good (All America player), as he is, is not a "hardly" addition
2. Your point about drafting a center to play guard is valid, my argument is that has been done with high draft pick centers in the past. I'm thinking Frank Ragnow by the Lions. (He did eventually go back to center)
3. From what I've read about Van Pran and see in his highlight, he has ver quick feet, and strays low (and therefore is not bullied by defensive Nose Guards). I see him as possibly an excellent Left Offensive Guard, who can protect the QBs blind side and pull on running plays

1. I didn't use the word "hardly" so I'm not sure why you put quotes around it.
2. Not all C/G prospects are the same. Some have OG experience, some have OG size/skills/traits, and some are viewed as "center-only" which is where Van Pran tends to land with most evaluators.
