8) Cooper Beebe – Kansas State – 6’3 / 322

Grade: 77

Four-year starter. Earned first team All-Big 12 honors three times. All-American in both 2023 and 2022 in addition to winning Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year both seasons. Beebe is a smart, powerful, and versatile football player that will change the personality of an offensive line. His game resembles that of a locomotive. While he does take a while to get moving out of his stance, the power in which he plays with from top to bottom will displace defenders consistently. He gets a tremendous push off the line as a run blocker and does not lose an inch against the bull rush in pass protection. A team will need to use him correctly because the margin between his good and bad is as massive as his frame. This is a guy that played both guard and tackle spots respectively and was practicing at center during the summer of 2023. Get Beebe in the system, work with what he has, and he is going to stabilize a spot on the line for years.

*This is such a unique prospect. At first glance, he looks a step too slow for any sort of starter projection. Then he goes out to the combine and tests out as one of the top 50 athletes ever at guard. Simply top 10% all time across the board when it comes to speed and quickness. Then it is hard to get over the lack of length. His 31.5” arms are woefully short. But then it is hard to not be impressed by his immense power and anchor. He simply does not lose ground against the bull rush, partially stemming from his strong and heavy hands. Beebe will not be for everyone but the loads of quality tape and the fact I love the person – I’m betting on Beebe. He will be a coach/fan favorite.
He could flat out bust

or he could be that scrappy overachiever who plays 15 years in the NFL. I am willing to risk a mid round pick on a guy who brings a lunch pail mentality and work ethic as he could very well turn into that stalwart on the Oline we have been missing.

I like him, just not too early in the draft. His limitations are enough to push him back some but I think at the very least he will make a team and constantly push those guys ahead of him..
I’ve been wanting a shot at this guy

He was higher rated at the beginning of the colle season, and has dropped… perfect!! I’ll gladly use a 3rd rounder on him. He’s gonna be a really good guard in this league!
He would be a nice pick

Cooper Beebe -- Good, Solid Pick

Looks to be better than any of the holdovers and would be a good, solid pro for multiple years. Wise use of a 3rd, 4th pick. He's the kind of guy the Cowboys would plug into their OL for years of dependable play.
there are some interesting day 2 guards - Beebee, Haynes, Mahogany

Haynes may go before #47 but the other 2 seem like they could be around at #70.

imagine finding another snee day 2 that could push eluemunor to being a true 6th OL/neal insurance policy?

I really like

Beebe a lot. He was in all my mocks before we went out and signed two OGs. I have him just behind Barton and Haynes when it comes to OGs in the 2nd/3rd round.
NFL,com described him as...

"A bulldozer in cleats." Works for me.

Yup. A + G, a starting CB opposite Banks. They can get a lot of value at the G or CB position in round 2. That's the "good" thing about having so many roster holes. Plug an expensive one right there. Gotta nail that pick.
If they want to run it with Lock and Jones.

Beebe in rd2 would pair well with Odunze/Nabers in rd1. I wonder if we would take him over Benson?
I certainly hope we've gotten to a point
mittenedman : 4/13/2024 3:48 pm : link
where we'd take a starting OL over a starting RB. Schoen seems to get positional value.

I like Benson, too, but I'm not drafting him in round 2 with this Swiss cheese roster. Especially with the "run game" Kafka and Daboll have shown the first 2 years. Why bother? You can find a guy to take shotgun inside handoffs anywhere.

I tend to agree with you, but Benson is very special and we technically have our starters on the ol set. Beebe would be a good option of Neal couldn't cut it at tackle or guard.

I also still like Gray. He had great wiggle and can be a threat in the passing game. He needs to get his blocking together and he could be solid in the rotation.
