One of the things that struck me while listening to the Kafka interview yesterday was how drastic the difference between his response to Daboll was compared to Wink's.
By many accounts it was actually Kafka with his underperforming unit on Daboll's side of the ball who more often than anyone found himself on the other end of Daboll's wrath. Kafka has at least as much reason to be unhappy with Daboll as Wink did, if not more. The guy had play calling duties stripped away, possibly more than once, and now it seems all but certain he'll lose them for good. It remains to be seen how detrimental this will prove to be for his chances at a HC opportunity, but it can't be good.
On top of this, the team later blocked Kafka from interviewing for a lateral job with Seattle who is clearly interested.
And yet he was very mild mannered in his interval, cordial. But there's no way he can be happy about this, even with the "promotion".
Contrast with Wink (or Wink's camp) who goes behind backs to the media, taking the fight to the public domain. You've got reports of cursing out and storming out of meetings, etc, especially after being told they let his buddy go. Total freaking mess for weeks/months.
I'm not removing any blame here for Daboll in all this, but it is striking how drastic these two men chose to handle the situation. Maybe you can point to Wink being a veteran coordinator opposed to Kafka who's still in his first term, but I really don't see this being handled much differently even if Kafka had been more seasoned in the position. I linked to the transcript, but watch the video if you haven't, and consider Kafka's response verses Wink's.

I’m not saying you aren’t right and that Kafka came off very professional. He’s also lobbying for a higher job. It’s a bad look as Wink found out to go kicking and screaming. In private and in public are 2 different scenarios.
I’m not sure why the Giants blocked him from moving on. We demoted him basically, that to me says they are doing a bad job.
Wink seems like a less reasonable and less professional older guy, influenced by Rob and Rex Ryan, whose career is nearing the end.
I'm sure there's more to it, but they're obviously 2 very different people.
I do think he will learn and get better.
Wink, underperformed even though he seemed to be the beneficiary of most of the talent acquired. Try to stop the run please....
great points about Kafka though. Just figured I’d share some intel about wink.
That’s all we need to know.

He recently bought a house off SR 70 in Bradenton--just down the road from me.
