Id prefer a premium position at 2 like a CB or if one of the better IDLs is available.
I dont mind Pratt in the 4th because it is possible, if not probable, that our QB room will be empty at the start of the league year in 2025. Even if Pratt's ceiling is a backup, that is a valuable and pretty expensive position.
I can probably live with this. A true #1 WR plus McKinney and Barkley's replacements. Take a flier on Pratt and give him every chance to develop and compete this year. Now with Nabers, Benson, Robinson and Hyatt you have a young core of gamebreakers on offense to build around.
You have a full compliment of draft picks again for 2025.
RE: I see little value in drafting a 4th Rd QB with only 6 picks
I imagine there were more impactful options available.
Constant arguments on BBI is
- the Giants, quite frankly, should be shooting a target every draft for a QB if they do not have one
- those who would be against a day 2 or early day 3 QB are the same group who argue for trading 1st and 2nd round picks to move up for a guy who "fell"
Much rather keep premium assets unless it's at the top of the draft and acquiring top level prospect. Not reaching back up and losing future assets for one with numerous questions.

There’s enormous uncertainty about QB outcomes. They should be drafting QBs all the time because you never know. I don’t love Pratt but, in the 4th round, this is an intelligent investment.
Oh, and the draft isn’t meant to plug holes. It’s about building the team talent base.
But no OLine just seems like more of the same garbage that got us here.
We just brought in two new starters. Drafting someone, given their recent OL history, also doesn’t guarantee they’ll draft a quality player. In any round.

Oh, and the draft isn’t meant to plug holes. It’s about building the team talent base.
This is clearly just an opinion without adding any facts. Both Runyan and Eleumunor started on decent lines, don’t have significant injury histories and offer positional flexibility. Are the all pros? No. But not every OL is going to have one.

Sorry that was intended for cokeduplt. Replied to wrong post. My bad.
They had better hope that Eluemunor and Ruynan are good and Schlottman is a good back-up. They were for their last teams. Also I think Matt Nelson is flying under the radar.
I get what you are saying and they would undoubtedly like to add another OL (they are bringing them in for 30 visits). But again, the Giants will have six or fewer picks next week.
Even though they have shown next to nothing, keep in mind that Giants drafted Ezeudu in round 3 and McKethan in round 5 in 2022.
I'd be willing to bet that Schoen and Daboll probably assume that they can get more value out of these guys for 2024 then other OL this year in the mid rounds, which is why they chose to sign some quality veteran FAs.
I'd prefer CB, Edge, or DT. Need to nail second round picks year over year, so much value there historically, including for NYG.
I haven't followed the mocks that closely, so I don't know if we're talking round 2 round 3 or whatever, but what do you think about Marshawn Kneeland? I'm really intrigued by this guy and the compliment he could be to our EDGE group.

I haven't watched alot of him, but in limited looks I think he's more of a 3-4 DE. Know NYG likes Adisa Issac, would think he's in play if available.
Nabers and Benson but they should add a QB in round 2.
In theory I agree but I'm not sure who that would be. Good chance imo that the top 6 will be off the board by 47. Are you taking Rattler at 47? I wouldn't personally.
I hate taking a QB outside of the first two rounds in this draft.
We have so few picks to begin with, if you're not going to spend one of the early ones on a premium prospect, don't waste a later one. Fill out the roster and try again on QB next year.

If they’re not taking one the first two rounds they should pass entirely
I have a feeling he is liked more by teams than the public and pundits are aware. I think backup is the potential floor not ceiling and he won’t make it out of the 3rd. Just too much demand in the league even for price manageable backup QB.

It's awful. S in rd 2? Then a rb in rd 3? No thoguht to psotional value ofr a rebuidlign team? Seems like he is oblivios to teh Giants being "rebuilding."
Yeah, either take the QB early or build the roster. Don't do the half-assed approach. Reminds me Kyle Lauletta in 2018.
I'd love to draft an OL, but they only have six picks. And they signed five offensive linemen in free agency and two blocking tight ends.

Most of the Olineman they signed aren’t good, and won’t be here past a year and some might not make the team. Can’t draft no Oline.

It does seem to understand the needs of the team...even throws red meat to the base with a QB in the 4th

Not a fan of a safety in the 2nd round. And I doubt benson last to us in the 3rd.

I think Dane's predictions for the Giants are realistic and spot on, given needs and value.

From what I heard I think he actually may. Obviously depends how the draft falls the first two days.
