Except worse cause Judge has never before looked so bad.
I didn’t realize it’s a day game and I have watched the last inning on my phone. Just came here to say that these last three games have looked like 2023.
But Boone needs to drop Judge to 6 or 7. If anyone else was hitting behind Soto they win 2 of the last 3. He looks like he's been lobotomized. In fact he looks like Donaldson last season.
If Cole comes back healthy and if Rodon pitches like a real number 2, I guess we have a very good staff. But the hitting and bullpen just strike me as "above average."
It's early and I still think this is a playoff team. But what are other teams scared of? Just Soto and Judge? Cole every 5th start? Not getting us a World Series.
The funniest thing was the pitch the TOR manager complained about and got tossed over was closer to a strike than any of the nonsense the ump was calling against the Yankees.
Great job by Judge and Soto shaking off terrible strike calls in the 9th inning.
Bringing in the lefty to face Wells was dumb. Trevino was definitely coming in (unless Boone was brain damaged.)
Nice to see them get up off the mat and get a win...
In 15 minutes between Judge finally getting off the shneid when it mattered most and Volpe winning it with the kind of D we weren't getting and the Jays were killing us with.
Like the heinous Cleveland loss led to a hangover, hopefully the great W and day off gets them rolling again.
RE: I wonder if Judge is still hurting from whatever that abdominal thing
They looked dead in the water, 4-1 into the 8th inning.
Then that man Soto got the comeback started, the guy kinda looks like a baseball savant with a bat in his hands, amazing.
As someone just mentioned, Judge needs to get going, so a big hit for him. Hopefully he can get going on the homestand.
Another good effort from Stroman, Ferguson needs to get it together in the bullpen, was it that about 3 gopher balls already, and Torres, why not sit him for a game Boone?
They have this guy Jones on the bench, who never plays, why is he even here then is my question, he is collecting woodchips
sitting on the bench. Let him play a bit, showed he was athletic in ST, looks better defensively than Torres too.
That dude is one of what I call, 'look at me' type of player,
plenty of those in sports. They want that attention.
I don't care for him. Why does he also do that Shhh thing when he is rounding third on a HR, at home games, kinda dumb, no?
Luckily for him, he can hit.
And that play by Volpe to end it, wow. I'll love Jeter for all eternity, but I don't think he would ever get to a ball like that his whole career
late to the party here, I know - just caught the replay of Volpe's play now - Holy Cow! as Rizzuto would have said. That was a beautiful play at a key moment.

If Torres doesn't get the base hit in the ninth yesterday, Yanks probably lose. He was also on base in all three innings in which the Yanks scored the previous game.
So there's that.
In 85 MLB at bats, Jahmai Jones has a slash line of
.176/.231/.224.
There's that too.
Baseball is a game of percentages. You never know which at bat is going to be the one that turns the game. If you don't play the percentages in your favor, you deserve to lose.

Always was big fish and now another bigger fish is swimming in the pond

Now we have a seven-game homestand against the Rays and A’s - good time to start stacking wins again.
Can enjoy the off day now.

You’re in last place.
