I asked Joe Schoen about whether Washington QB Michael Penix Jr. acquitted himself medically, and if Giants are reticent to draft guys with injury histories.
Schoen said luckily, in Monday's medical meeting, the Giants did NOT lose many players off this year's draft board. He also said while he won't go into Penix Jr.'s specifics, how a player RESPONDS to injuries and surgeries is a major indicator, and Penix has been healthy recently

This is a great sales pitch for why the Giants spent so much time with the QBs. Actually makes sense also.

It'll take some time to wade through Schoen's draft-related comments, but quick notes on current players:
• It does not sound like he has any intention of negotiating an extension with Darius Slayton, who is skipping voluntary workouts because he wants a raise.
• Still no word from Darren Waller, who continues to contemplate retirement. Schoen said the team has given no deadline for a decision.
I would really NOT want to play poker with this guy. He could pass a lie detector test!!
As Eric has said, don't listen to the words, pay attention to the actions.

#NYGiants Schoen - have gotten a lot of calls from people behind us to trade up to six...in fact, a surprising amount already
Basically he gave us a lot of GM speak which is good. My take away is he's open to any proposal . I couldn't get a read if next years number one is on the table.
He did not sound concerned about moving future picks based on who could be available. He referenced a lot of players now staying in school based on NIL.
It's not only scripted, its memorized. It will be their tact if they are unable to draft a QB (which is possible).
Then he can say "as I've told you guys, the expectation is Daniel will be the starter and we are comfortable with our QB room".
It's a predictable tact.

The fact that it is the same wording is telling (at least to me).
Kind of reminds me of that scene in Congress in "Lincoln"... "it's a lawyer's dodge!"
Giants are taking a QB, but one shouldn't be surprised if it's Nix in an unusual trade down and take a different player (WR), then up from Round 2 scenario.
As for Waller, the fact Giants took hard looks at Sinnott and Theo Johnson has me wondering if they know which way he's leaning already and go there in Rounds 2-4.

I was unable to listen but what are your highlights? QB in play? Trade down on the table? Trade up possibility starts at 3?

Daboll gives nothing in press conferences, but Schoen is quite informative, albeit measured and careful.

I'll have the transcript up shortly. Key points are already posted in this thread.
As for Waller, the fact Giants took hard looks at Sinnott and Theo Johnson has me wondering if they know which way he's leaning already and go there in Rounds 2-4.
They want the right QB....and willing to trade 2025 picks.
They are well prepared.....and all options are on table.
I came away, feeling the Giants are in good hands

I get the same sense. I think trade down is a real possibility if they don't go QB.

Problem is these draft picks they have been selecting need to start performing. Some have, but some haven't (injuries have been a factor too).
I'd feel better if the results to date were better.
They also made a colossal screw up on the Jones/Barkley situations last offseason.
