Odds are shifting for the Commanders QB decision at No. 2

GFAN52 : 4/19/2024 8:08 am
The odds, they are a-changin’.

Two days ago, LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels had emerged as the clear favorite over North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye to be the second overall pick in the 2024 draft, -275 to +215. Now, DraftKings has both at -115.

At FanDuel, Daniels was at -250 and Maye was at +185. Now, they’re both -110.

I’ve been saying it a lot here that I thought all along that while Kingsbury wanted Daniels, Quinn wants Maye…

That Washington takes Maye and the Pats are open to trade back to #6 so we can get Daniels. Still a long shot, but my preferred path.

Who does Magic prefer?

😆
I think that's because Schefter clarified his comments
UberAlias : 4/19/2024 8:21 am : link
as being non-committal, plus a reaction to Daniel's agent's tweet.

The Minnesota Vikings are visited with Jayden Daniels in Baton Rouge on Thursday with less than a week to go before the 2024 NFL Draft, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero.

Like some of us have been saying, Daniels frame and style of play is a concern. It might be a 'game time' decision.
Haha

This is a funny thread. Especially to the guys that post "see, I told you" if the odds just shifted to their views.

I’d still be surprised if WFT doesn’t take Daniels.

Probably true.
Kingsbury is known to want Daniels, so as he's OC, I would reckon it will be Daniels.
As a Giant fan, I would rather play may twice a year

Daniels is the only QB

I want.

If Washington passes on him, I would be 100% on board to do what you have to do to get him.
I'm sorry
BlueHurricane : 4/19/2024 8:59 am : link
I cannot see Daniels being a long term NFL qb. He is far to slight of frame. I hope Washington takes him. I see a very RG3 like rise and fall with him. Might be a pain in the ass in the short term but he is going to get beat up in the NFL.

What? You think if the books truly thought that Daniels was the heavy favorite to go 2nd that they’d intentionally lower his odds to “lure more gamblers” to take advantage of that low number and put more money on Daniels at a much better price? Haha, yeah. They just love losing money…

You do understand its not a zero-sum math table going on here, right?

Of course, but your logic makes no sense. You think lowering the odds on Daniels is intentional to bring in more gamblers. The only reason more people would decide to throw down money in your scenario is to take advantage of getting Daniels at a better price, no? If the odds on Daniels are going down then the odds of others is going up. Why on earth would gamblers rush to now throw down money on players where the potential winnings are now worse? It makes no sense whatsoever

It could be smoke (and probably is), but reports have said that the Pats prefer Daniels and are not high on Maye.

All we hear are that the Giants like Maye. Would it shock people if they traded up for Daniels if he was there at 3?

I agree. Maye’s the prize. It seems like WAS might be realizing that.

This is why I tell people there’s still a very reasonable chance that only 2 QBs have gone before pick 6. This draft is loaded with Non-QB superstar potential, and in the history of the league we’ve never had 4 go in the top 6.

Let me amend this - I think 3 going in the top 5 is very likely. Would not be surprised at all if the 4th falls out of the top 10

$7M verses $3.4M, so cut in half, and he's trying to force that? Ummm..... think not.

Hmm, now I was thinking something might be up with Daniels. He is a perfect match with the Pierce and the Raiders.

Washington dropping to the Raiders pick is a BIG drop.. Now, if the raiders need to move up first then move again it could be doable..
