What are your draft day plans/traditions?

Jay7852 : 4/20/2024 7:11 am
Thursday night is one of my favorite days of the year. I always watch with the same group of friends (mostly Bills fans) You will find me in my Ahmad Bradshaw jersey. I will be drinking my goose island bourbon county stout from 2018. I like to watch it live, no phone or twitter until AFTER the giants pick. I will immediately watch highlights of whatever player draft on YouTube lol I avoid most Giants sites to avoid all the negativity. Will be extra fun this year with the possibility of teams (including the giants) trading up at the end of the first round for a QB. My buddies and I will try and go Pick by Pick guessing the entire first round, makes for a very fun night.

What about you guys????

Going to cousin's place in Maine Thursday. Will be watching in his man cave & drinking a lot of Stoneface IPAs.
I always take Friday off

I'll order some takeout and drink some beers. My favorite event of the year.
No real traditions besides

Basically being unproductive for 3 days. Thursday and Friday are spent refreshing BBI and Saturday is all day in front of the TV, putting off the weekend chores until some other time.

This year the Knicks conflict with Round 1 so I’ll watch in my man cave and have to toggle between the main TV and one of the side TV’s. I’ll probably go Knicks on the main TV until the draft starts, then move the draft over to the main TV until after the Giants pick.
see who the Giants pick and go to bed.

for the last 10 yrs it hasn't been very late.

also flip another game or show until the picks are in. I try to avoid as much of the broadcast as possible and especially try to avoid the phony Roger Goodell bro hugs.
Watch the draft- eat - drink - look up all the pick

Write ups- and of course follow the whole thing on BBI and read all the bickering and fighting. You know how stupid the Giants are, how much they hate the Mara's and Jones, and how stupid the pick is. The usual.
Well

Refresh BBI roughly 5 billion times a day Thurs-Sat.

Otherwise I try to take off work Friday, do some outside yard/gardening, some shopping so I can relax Thurs evening through Saturday and watch draft. Otherwise it’s just get food, drink, snacks I want.
Don't watch anymore.

It's long. And boring AF Back she. It was Sat and Sunday it was awesome. Now I check my phone and have moved on w my life. The NFL is surviving without me just fine. lol. Well aware. But I do wonder of it hasn't been watered down to others.
I don’t have any draft day traditions

Since they changed the format and my dad passed. Now I watch the first round only, with a whisky or two. Or three. I also track who picked whom, and who's still available on the big board of whichever draft guide I’m using. These days, that’s Brugler.
That's about it.

The only time I’ve truly enjoyed the draft (in the new format), and walked away feeling great was the Thibodeaux/Neal draft — where the Giants had two early picks, and NEED lined up perfectly with VALUE. Usually, the Giants don’t do what I’d do, so I just have to hope for the best — fully realizing that whether I feel good or shitty about who they picked, I could be completely wrong.

I don’t watch days two and three. Just keep an eye on who they pick and research those players later.

Bitching and moaning when the Giants don't draft the players I've "scouted" on YouTube.
I follow along with a spreadsheet of my favorite prospects by round
